The power on my Toshiba isn't working.

My Toshiba won't turn on, all my cords are plugged in correctly. The power just won't turn on, I've tried using the remote and the tv buttons but nothing is turning on. No image, no nothing. The green light that shows up when the power turns on won't light up.

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto. The power on my Toshiba isn't working. - 6_17_2012_8_14_45_pm.jpg6_17_2012_8_15_04_pm.jpg

yes call the tech and have the power board replaced. In future have the TV plugged into an anti surge board to protect it ( and you from expensive repair.) I suspect you will need a new power supply fitted

SOURCE: Our Toshiba Regza won't turn on.

Down load this firmware file p/n 2007SEN069 from this address http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/customersupport/model_firmware.asp?model=26hl67. The instructions are here also. Un zip to a blank sd card. I'm not sure if the set will boot to the card or not.
I finally got the tv to boot by constantly plugging in the a/c power and unplugging the power until it filally booted and was able to turn the set on.
Remove the sd slot cover from the lower right rear of the set, and insert the sd card with the unzipped firmware. Monitor the screen and follow instructions. Do not remove the card until the set powers off.
This fixed mine, hope others benefit from this repair.

Toshiba Satellite won't start up when AC plugged in

Try another Cord/Charger to verify the Cord, AC jack. If you plug in the AC cord after starting on battery, does the battery charge? Open Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, Advanced power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, Adjust Advanced power setting to your preference.

** TV won't turn on.** No picture or sound. Please Help !

If the red light won't come on it is not getting power.First, try plugging it in to a different outlet,or unplug one of the gadgets you know is working and plug the tv in there. You are simply switching. If you know that there is power coming from the outlet and it still won't come on then you'll have to check the cord;don't go much farther than that without expert help.

With a new motherboard installed, am still having problems with AC power cord and battery. I know battery is getting to end of it's life.Power cord will not power laptop by itself. Laptop will onl

Output of 19 Volts DC at 6.3 Amps is correct. (It isn't the Amperage you have to be concerned about so much. It is the Voltage. Voltage is correct)

Mounted on the motherboard of your laptop is a power correcting chipset.

This chipset senses when the laptop battery needs a trickle charge, or a full charge. It also senses when the laptop is to run straight off of the battery, or the AC adapter. (Charger)

With a Battery being at the end of it's 'Life Cycle', you may be overtaxing this chipset. Can't sense that the laptop needs to run straight off of the AC adapter. Tries to constantly charge the battery.

Replace the Battery.

Or the motherboard isn't worth poo-poo, and has a bad power correcting chipset.
(Don't care if the motherboard is new. Lemons are made)

Some examples of chipset's used in this mode, I am referring to;

My toshiba PSAgou laptop won't turn on

That is a common problem with the Toshiba. The center pin tends to get broken off. I have had to repair them by either installing a new mother board, or removing the mother boars and soldering in a new power port.

Router won't power on. Correct adapter. No previous problems. Don't get any response from the router after plugging it in? Is it normal for routers to just have a system fail like this? Also is...

May be a button on back of router to power on/off. If you have any other electronics you can compare voltages on power cords and make sure they match and try a new power cord. Generally though with routers if it has been fried by a surge of some kind there generally isn't a way to fix it, at least not in any way that will be cheaper than just replacing the router itself.

Hi.

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.

Good luck.

My qosmio toshiba model x505-q882 wont turn on when i try to press the power button i just got it by mail a few days ago so i don't understand what the problem may be.

If it isn't already, try plugging it in, it might have run out of battery power. Otherwise, you would have to remove the top shell of the computer (where the keyboard is housed) to get to your power button to make sure it's plugged into the motherboard properly, unless it's still under warranty, in which case, you could send it in and have them do it for you, so long as it wasn't the first problem. If it's not under warranty, and plugging it in won't work, just post a comment here, and I'll help you with making sure the power button is plugged in.

Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6848 HAS NO POWER. NO LIGHTS COME ON AND I PLUGGED THE POWER CORD INTO ANOTHER TOSHIBA AND IT WORKS. NOT A POWER CORD PROBLEM. NO FANS RUN OR ANYTHING WHEN I HIT THE POWER BUTTON....

TRY TO REMOVE THE BATTERY AND JUST PLUG THE CHARGER ON IT AND ON POWER. SWITCH IT ON. IF IT TURNS ON THEN YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOU NEED A NEW BATTERY OR IF IT DOES NOT, TAKE IT TO A COMPUTER SPECIALIST TO CHECK ANY HARDWARES THAT ARE NOT FUNCTIONING.

THANK YOU
