I just accidentally fixed mine, put the repair kit in and still didn't fix, although one resistor was open so I put everything in the kit in.I noticed there was no AC detect on pin 16 on P301,so I decided to take the board out and trace the AC detect circuit and there it was D70 diode had one leg with no solder,so I resoldered it and the tv works fine now.Hope this helps someone

Yep. That is one fix. Glad it worked for you. I was one that bought the chip from you a few weeks ago, but unfortunately, my problem didn't change after changing the chip and assoc. parts. It certainly is worth a try for anyone with this problem. If it doesn't work, you can get a new Zenith power supply on Amazon for $63.72.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00470F... Please download the training manual I list below at elektrotanya.com and in that manual you can run the power supply sitting on the bench using 2 100W light bulbs. This at least will let you know if there is a problem with the P.S. On mine, the 2 lights would go on then back off in 1 second, Just like the TV.
I'm not sure your kit was not the one I bought cause I just got the chip, but it's the same videos so you are probably the guy. My fuse, diode, and resistor were OK. That's probably why the chip wasn't the problem on mine.
Sorry to hear that it didn't work for you.. Thats my i always tell people to have their tv checked by a professional tv tech before making any purchases. Curious Guefy...Do you have a Lg or a zenith? and what's the board number? Did you figure out the problem
Shoot. I lost the reply I just did. It was the EAY60968801 board. LG owns Zenith BTW. I have the LG 50PK750. My boss gave it to me after it died on him at 14 months old. I did not investigate further after getting the new board. There is a slight chance I might have ******** up one of the thru-holes on the board, and since it's a multi-level board, that might have been it. I did work to resolder better on that one pin but the pad had come off the back side of the board, even though there was no connection on the top layer, but, again, there is a slight chance I messed that up.
Anyway, after seeing your videos, I was up for trying that chip anyway, so it doesn't bother me that it wasn't the fix, or maybe that I screwed it up. It's just more things I learn, and I can never have enough experience at sodering/desoldering.
LOLOL..well done Guefy... I commend you for trying...for having the courage to learn new things..First you don't succeed, try, try again. Am I right?yes LG owns zenith but sometimes the boards a slightly different. Its a shame that the board is damage because i was interested in buying it from you.

I had the same problem.Replaced power board and every think is fine. Got refurburbished on line.
Thanks
Power board in set needs to be looked at first--voltages tested etc--like saying my car will not start---a number of possible reasons.
Set is shutting down because either a voltage is missing, being pulled down or one of the several boards in this set is bad.
SOURCE: lg 50 in clicks but won't stay on.
Ur power board need it replaced,LED indicator light not sustaning power.
SOURCE: 61" plasam TV will not turn on
This is one of two problems, Bad capacitors in the power supply or your Y Sustain board has failed, I would go for the first, take the back off your tv and look for swollen or domed shaped capacitors on the power supply, They may also leak a brown liquid like substance.
Replace all that you can see and this should cure the fault.
SOURCE: 42 in LG LCD TV turns off by itself
Found that TV started switching off by itself. Would try to come on..green light blinked for 2-3 seconds, tv came on (with picture and sound) for 1 or 2 seconds and then it would turn itself off. Found that the issue is with one channel only. If you are facing this issue....try quickly changing the channel the moment it comes on. You can do it either with remote or with the TV buttons directly. also in the same logic, if this is still happening, try changing the source to another (rgb-pc, av1, av2 etc). Basically change it from whatever input it is on currently, if changing the channels does not work. My symptom was that the tv made a loud 'TIK' 'TAK' sound which is louder than normal.
This issue is a common,
but hardly talked about from LG. Your tv is probably 1 or 2 months out of
warranty, and now you're hearing a series of clicks. ... If you have the
courage to open the back cover of your tv, and you do "NOT" see any
bad (bulging ) capacitors on the power supply, then it could be the voltage
regulator. After weeks of fighting
