Kenmore Elite Trio - Error msg control panel Er dH -

I have reset our circuit breaker and control panel then clears and works but for only a little while. Frig not cooling with this error msg.

I called repair at Sears just wanting a manual or explanation of the code. They were no help. Hate to pay $65 service fee if something I can do.

Thank you
Kay

    Error: Er dH

Is it something we can fix ourselves?

    Thank you cHANNELKEN!

  • k12105 Dec 06, 2008

You are absolutely correct!!!! We were not able to do it ourselves so had to call service.

QUESTION: Because of where we live in the mountains, we have frequent power outages. Would that cause parts to burn out? Special surge protector needed for our frig?

    THANK YOU cHANNELKEN!

YOU DON'T SAY WHAT THE MESSAGE IS. EITHER WAY IF THERE IS A ERROR CODE USUALLY ONE OF THE FANS ARE NOT RUNNING OR THERE IS A DEFROST PROBLEM.

  • Anonymous Dec 06, 2008

The code shows that you have or had a defrost problem. there is a defrost controller on the evaperator. it set on the top right hand corner of it.Take the model number and go to sears parts on the web and find the part and order it. you will need to unplug the ref to reset the panel. If you are not able to do this then you will need a service person.

My kenmore elite trio has error message. ER DH

The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

Kenmore Elite Trio Error Message ER DH

This is a refrigerator manufactured by LG and is well known for this type of malfunction. There should be two 1/4 inch screws on the outside of the freezer drawer tracks near the front that will allow you to pull out the entire door assembly. Once this is done and the unit is fully defrosted and unplugged, there are a couple/few screws in the back freezer panel. Once the panel is removed, this part is located on the upper right side of the evaperator coils. It is sometimes wedged in tigtly but should pull out with a good tug. Unplug the white harness, remove defective part and reverse this process. Good luck and happy shopping for the shoes.

Error message

Hello gravyblast.
Welcome to Fixya.

You said, your Kenmore Elite Trio, model 795.7756 or 7757 has an error message simply reading ER IF. No pressing of buttons, or combination thereof changes anything. Also, the ice maker has stopped working although it is turned on.
Can anyone help?
I cannot pull the refrigerator out to unplug and reboot it, thus I don't know what to do.

Try tripping the breaker off for 5 minutes and then see if this method resets the system?
Do not turn it back on for at least tree minutes. That's why I said, Five!!!

Lets see how it resets while I look your fridge up.
Write back. Huuum

Kenmore elite Trio

unplug the unit from the wall and re-plug it in and see if the display goes back to normal. It will stay that way untill the next defrost cycle and the code out again. Most likely there is a controller located on the right side of theevap that may need replacing. The code is saying there is a defrost problem.

Kenmore 795.7731 Fridge warm;freezer cold - Error er dH

I faced the same problem for Kenmore elite Trio Model # 795.77543600 bottom freezer refrigerator. The issue as pointed out by Medeer on fixya.com, turned out to be the part called component assembly, part number 6615JB2005H. I got this replaced yesterday but for 4 hours I did not notice any cooling... so I thought it did not work.... but then in the morning I notice that the issue has been resolved, the refrigerator is cold and there is no eR dH error message. Thanks to all who shared on this site.
