Try to check the sound board or play a DVD to your TV to test if the TV has a problem.

My Vizio tv has no sound except through Roku headphones.

You have to check the menus setting of the tv. In almost all the LCD TVs there is a setting which allow you to choose whether you want to use the internal speakers or external speakers. Check it first. If it's properly selected as internal speakers and then also there is no sound from the tv then you have to check the speakers.
I'd you wish to get some more details then check the below added link.

No sound on lcd tv

First check your TV setup menu to see if your TV audio preferences are set to PC audio. That is a setting that sends audio out through your PC cables instead of the TV speakers. It may also have been set to mute through a remote.

I have 50"plasma tv with picture but no sound. It shut itself off a number of times before this happened. I have the back of the tv off. the model number is PN50A400C2DXZA version SM12

Well, it could be something inside, but it could also be a setting.
In SETUP, there's the option of using the internal speakers or external speakers. If it's set on external speakers and you don't have any connected, then you get no sound.

Sentry 2.1 surround sound speaker system. i have my rca cords plugged in to my tv, but i only get sound from my tv, nothing out of the speaker itself. it only works when i have my headphone jack into

Most televisions have a setting that controls whether the TV uses its internal speakers or sends the sound to the audio out jacks for an external amplifier or speakers.
Try going through the settings menu and follow through the audio/speaker selections and confirm that the TV is set to use external speakers.

My loewe articos 30 has a picture but no sound. Frustrating!! Please help!!

Most of the Loewe's (I did factory warranty work on them) have a black square plug in the back with a single jumper wire---if plug is not there there will be no sound.

Get it to work with only the internal speakers and ALWAYS MAKE ALL EXTERNAL HOOKUP WITH THE UNITS OFF.

LET ME know if you have questions as I am here to help you.

Good picture no sound

Hello
Check the speakers first. Get this set connected to an external audio amplifier device, such ans an amplifier or so, with its audio out connections at the back of the TV with audio in connections on the back of the amp, and listen whether you can see sound from the external amp. If you can hear sound from the external amp, and not with the internal speakers of your tv, either the speakers may have damaged or it audio output IC had got damaged. if so you have to replace the IC or should replace the audio card o your tV, if the IC is not available at local electronic spare part market.
If you can't hear any audio by external amp, as it has been connected as stated earlier, the mother board [main board] of your tv has the trouble. There is no repair to this digital board, and it should be replaced as card basis. OK.

Can't get sound to come from speakers with tv only the radio

You didn't give the brand and model of your TV, and I can't try to find a manual and see what kind of AV connections it has available. So here's some general information.

Many TV sets only have input jacks for external sources like DVD players or cable boxes. When you select an external source, or use the set's internal tuner for TV programming, the video and audio play through the TV. The trouble is that if the set has no audio output jacks, there's no way to get a sound signal out. The TV accepts only inputs

When the TV is part of a home theater system, most people use it just as a video monitor. All AV sources connect to the receiver, and audio is sent from there to the speakers. A video output from the receiver goes to the TV so you can see the picture, and the TV's speakers aren't used. If you have a cable box, FiOS set-top box or satellite receiver for your TV channels, they connect to the receiver too, since they're just another external source.

This doesn't work if you rely on the TV's internal tuner for TV channels, though. This might be the case, for instance, if you have a cable system where a converter box isn't required and your cable connects right to the TV. When you're watching regular TV, then, the sound comes through the set's internal speakers. If there's no audio output available on your TV, that's your only option.

As I said earlier, many TV's have only audio inputs. But some have audio output jacks as well, so the sound has a way out. If yours does, you can connect them to one of the inputs on the home theater receiver. Then when you select that input you'll get the TV sound through the speakers connected to the receiver. Depending on the design of the TV, you may need to leave the TV volume turned up. Some sets have outputs that are follow the TV's volume setting. On others, the output is an independent fixed level. Then you can turn the TV volume down and use just the receiver's speakers if you want.

Check the connections available on your TV and look for a set of "audio out" jacks. Your TV's owner's manual should have a section explaining how to connect it in different ways. If you need a copy, most manufacturers have manuals for download on their website.

Good luck with your sound, and thanks for using Fixya!
