Zooming issue on Mitsubishi 65" TV

Since DirecTV changed their guide to HD, the banner appears slightly out of the screen. When I asked them, they said that I needed to zoom in the TV. Any thoughts on how to do it? Thanks

Hit the pic adjust button until you get the picture you want. If it does not change correctly, then you need to change it on the Sat box.

SOURCE: Image problem with WS-65809 65" Mitsubishi Projection TV

WS-65809?, if convergence is skewed and comes and goes, uses two of the STK-392-570 CONVERGENCE IC chips.

I have seen a lot of the Mitsubishi sets that use these two chips where the convergence jumps in and out. You need to replace both chips and adjust the set.

You can buy a pair of the chips on EBAY for less than 13 dollars plus shipping.

I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THE SETS THAT USE THESE TWO CHIPS.

If you or someone you know can do the repair you can save the set and a lot of money--most shops are going to get at least 300 for this kind of repair--I know as I have done hundreds of them here.

The instructions tell you everything you will need and how to do the repair. I have helped many people here do this based on my instructions.

If you want the instructions let me know and I will either post them here or send them to you.

If this information has helped you, rate this solution as I do this here for FREE.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi TV Model #WS65903 - Green Shadow Lines on Screen

Something is not right here--The green is adjustable in the TECH menu--did this person adjust or try to adjust in the customer or the TECH menu?

If you confirm actual model number I can tell you how to get into the TECH menu--yes--green will not adjust in customer menu--it determines geometry and is only adjusted in the TECH menu.

Also, this set requires any convergence adjustments to be done in 480 and then in 1080--if only adjusted in one mode the other will still be bad.

Let me know if you know how to adjust in TECH menu or not--with exact model number I can tell you how to get there.

If this helps you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Screen doesn't appear to be HD even though it is an HD TV. Directtv suggests I check tv set up with you. how do i know if HD feature is working correctly. can u help me with the set up if not?

WD 65733 IS an HD TV.
The signal coming into is the key.
You must use HDMI or Component Input to translate HD to a TV.
Check the output resolution of you DirecTV box in its setup menu.

Directv Samsung problem

I also have directv. At this point,it is a video signal issue on their end.The up conversion is ok at best.Depending on the original video that is probably as good as it gets. The other problem is the wow factor from hd.It is hard not to be critical of the non-hd channels.

How to read dvr messages

From the R10 user's manual:

From time to time DIRECTV may send you messages about updates to your service and other important notices. These messages are important, useful, and easy to find. When your DIRECTV® DVR receives a new message, a message icon ( ) appears on the channel banner and in DIRECTV Central.

To read a message:
1. From DIRECTV Central, select Messages & Setup.
2. Select Messages.
3. Select the message you want to read.

Use the CHAN DOWN button to see text that does not fit on the screen. When you are finished reading a message, select Done or Delete Message. Selecting the message icon in the channel banner will take you to your list of messages. The message list will display “No Messages” if there are no messages to read.

You can download the full user manual for your R10 here.

Hi

Have questions about your upgrade? We've got the answers. What do I need to do to receive my upgrade? Nothing! Just make sure your DIRECTV HD DVR is continuously connected to your land-based phone line and you will receive the upgrade automatically. When will I receive my upgrade? The 6.3 software upgrade will roll out over a period of several weeks. Customers with more than one DIRECTV HD DVR may receive their upgrades at different times for each receiver. We appreciate your patience while we deliver these new and improved features to eligible DIRECTV HD DVR customers nationwide. Are all DIRECTV DVRs receiving this upgrade? No. DIRECTV DVR models SONY SAT-T60, PHILIPS DSR6000R and HUGHES GXCEBOT will not receive the 6.3 software upgrade. Other models received a similar upgrade, 6.2, in the past. I have a DIRECTV R10 DVR with 6.1 software. Will I receive this upgrade? No. The 6.1 software on the DIRECTV R10 DVR already includes the 6.2 features such as folders and faster menu scrolling. Will any of my DVR settings be changed as a result of the upgrade? Yes, some of your settings or preferences will be changed back to the factory default settings as a result of the upgrade. These include: "Favorite Channels," "Channels You Receive," "Spending Limits," "Clear Channel Banner Quickly" and "Dolby Digital" recording and output. To change Channel Banners, Channels You Receive and Favorite Channels preferences: 1. Select "Messages and Setup" 2. Select "Settings" 3. Select "Channels" To change Spending Limits: 1. Select "Messages and Setup" 2. Select "Settings" 3. Select "Parental Control" To change Dolby Digital Settings: 1. Select "Messages and Setup" 2. Select "Settings" 3. Select "Audio" 4. Select "Dolby Digital" and "Digital Output" Will I be charged for this upgrade? No. We're upgrading your DIRECTV HD DVR as part of your normal DIRECTV® DVR with TiVo® service at no additional cost. What happens if I don't have my phone line plugged into my DIRECTV DVR? You will not be able to receive the upgrade if your DIRECTV DVR is not connected to your phone line. To install the upgrade, your receiver must successfully make a call to our servers. How will I know when I have received my upgrade? You'll receive an on-screen message the first time you visit DIRECTV Central after your upgrade is complete. It will also appear in your Messages section. You can also check your System Information screen to find out which software version you currently have. Will the download delete any of my currently saved programs? No. All of your saved programs will still be there for your enjoyment after the installation. Once your upgrade is complete... How do I activate the Grouping (folders) option? 1. Go to your Now Playing List. 2. Press Enter on your remote control. 3. Change groups to ON.
