BATTERY NUMBER OF FOSSIL CH-2601
SOURCE: Fossil watch battery
It is a 364 battery. You can order these online from many battery outlets, even ebay.If your watch is 5ATM or more, it has a pressure seal, and you might want to send it to the Fossil service centre to have it changed and resealed.

It is not likely that there is a protective cover over the battery itself, if there is anything on it to prevent use while not owned it is a little pc of plastic holding the stem out. It is sad to say but there is no way to tell how long the watch had the current battery in it before you received it. It is common to get a new watch and have the battery die shortly after or be already dead. Go to a local jewelry store to have replaced, make sure they are able to test the old one FIRST, if the battery is dead, allow them to replace it, if the battery is fine, return the watch to Amazon.

Those arrows inside of the watch band are showing direction for pins or clips to come out. If you have two arrows in opposite directions on one link, that means there are two pins or clips and each one must be extracted from arrow pointing side.
If there is only one arrow on the link- there is only one clip or pin and must be extracted the arrow pointing way.
Some watch bands are held together by very specificly made clips or pins. In this case you will need a special tool to extract them.

When you pull out crown, there is two positions (clicks), not just one. First click is for day/date quick setting. Second click is for hand setting. Pull the crown out slowly and carefully and you will soon find out both positions.
