My HP laser jet 3500 color printer documents look horrible

The colors are not right. Picures have a lot of green tint to them. Pie charts that I print do not look right - the lavendar has too much red in it and it is leaving completely white large spots throughout the document. All cartridges are indicating that they are either 1/2 full or more. - all have plenty of ink.

Faded prints are possible due to following reasons.

1. Fogged red mirrors inside the Laser box
2. Alignment of the Laser Box
3. Calibration Problem
4. Cleaning Problem

I will guide you with simple steps first, if this dosen't work working with laser box is little tough & time consuming, hence will describe later.

To Calibrate the colors, Press the 'Green Button' in the front panel, use the arrow keys to navigate through menu.

Select 'System Setting' by pressing the green button again, navigate using the arrow keys and select the 'Calibrate Color', select green button to select and confirm to 'Calibrate Now'. This will take few minutes.

In addition to that, to clean the paper path, select the green button and use the arrow keys and navigate thru' menu and select 'Service'. select using the green button and navigate through menu and select cleaning option. This will take few minutes.

Try printing some documents and check whether you have fixed. If you have not got the original print quality, Let know to guide you more technically.

My hp photosmart c4480 is printing in horrible color, redish tint and hazy. i just installed brand new color and black ink and can't get my pictures to print right. Help!!!!

Hello Friend,

First of all please check for correct drivers for printer.

Secondally : Please draw three different - different color boxes in word and print them on you printer and find out which one color is missing. Example as follows.

HP Color Laser Jet 3550 Smearing Colors

Do you use original genuine cartridges or refilled ones. It sounds like you have had a leak and need to completely clean out your printer heads, rollers and perhaps do a deep claean as well. You can buy faulty cartridges and toners that have one leak, then the ink continually leaves traces as it prints. When you say callibrated, do you mean you ran print tests and setting tests. Running a print test can often help to diagnose ink issues an d narrow the results down a bit. After a thorough clean, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling unit.
