I've connected my xbox to my LG e2260 Flatron via HDMI and get the sound via monitor rear output audio jack, but when I decrease monitor brightness from %100 to %99 or lower , my headphones going

I know my xbox doesn't have any problem , because I tested my xbox with the same HDMI cable to my samsung LCD TV and I havent any noise problem even with the same headphone. I dont know what the problem is, maybe all of the LG E2260 series have the same problem with audio output ( no noise on 100% brightness, having noise on 99% or less) or maybe my rooms power plugs has issue!!! I dont know why, is anyone has a solution for me? thanks

SOURCE: Using different speakers for TV

If it does not have anything besides optical it will not work unless you have a system capable of optical input (some Logitechs have it, but don't remember which ones, i know that the Z-5500 does certainly have it but that's not too cheap).

Weird that it doesn't have a a headphone jack indeed. But if it doesn't, that optical digital out is the only way to connect it.

SOURCE: problem using headphones 3.5mm output with Sony Bravia tv

Just mute the TV and you will get sound out of your headphones. You may have to turn the TV sound up though.

SOURCE: to play laptop thru samsung tv

So you are connecting the laptop to the TV using VGA port of the TV, right? To get sound in the PC input mode, you need to use the PC audio input jack (green jack, mini 3.5mm jack) not the RED and White RCA audio input, they are for Composite Video AV inputs. That is how I have my laptop and TV setup to watch Netflix.

LG blue ray won't play sound from RCA sound bar. HDMI cable is hooked into HDMi slot on TV

the details you provided were very vague, however from my experience when a device is connected to another device via and audio capable hdmi cable, that device renders it audio output to the device its connected to and normally turn off all other audio outputs beside optical- I would assume there is an option in the blue ray player to turn off hdmi audio, which will in turn activate other audio outputs- you may also look for audio out port on your tv, it is ideal to connect the sound bar directly to the tv set audio out ports. To sum this up,
if you plan to use your player via hdmi cable you need to turn off hdmi audio output on the blue ray player and the plug an audio cable from your blue-ray player to your sound bar
you may also as i said connect your sound bar directly to your tv, the issue is most tv sets now a days do not have an audio out port, if you do then everything you play thru your tv will have audio via sound bar
there are several way to go here but unless your sound bar has hdmi av switching capabilities (im sure not) this is one of the most simple--Good Luck.

How do I get the sound through my LG M197WD Flat screen monitor when using it with my PC? Sound is fine when using it as a TV!

What video cable are you using between the TV and the computer? If you are using a VGA, DVI or DVI-HDMI cable, you need to connect a 3.5 mm audio patch cord between the computer's audio out and the PC audio in on the TV. The audio out on the computer will be the speaker (green) port on the back of a desktop or the headphone jack. (Make sure that this jack works by connecting a different set of computer headphones or speakers to the computer.) The audio in jack on the TV is above the RGB input; it's just to the left of the digital audio out.

Check that the correct audio output is selected. From the Hardware and Sound Control Panel, look at Manage Audio Devices and the Playback option. If your computer has an HDMI port, that may have become the default audio output device. Change this setting. (Not all TVs can accept HDMI signals from a computer but a number of video cards are encoding this as the default during install.) Try a new audio patch cable between the TV and the computer.

If another set of speakers doesn't work, you need to check the drivers for your computer. In the Device Manager (click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager), scroll down to the section for Sound controllers and expand it. Then check for updates for the audio driver. If necessary, uninstall the driver (by right clicking on the audio driver). Then shut down the computer and restart it.

The manual for the M197WD is available from LG here: http://www.lg.com/uk/it-products/monitors/LG-tv-monitor-M197WD.jsp . Click on the support tab and the link is on the right side of the page.

My directions are for Windows 7; it's slightly different for other versions of Windows.

I hope this helps. Please post a comment with the video connection that you are using if you need additional assistance.

Hi can a lg 22"e2260s-pn

According to LG's website the monitor has an HDMI input. Depending on the Freebox you have it could be hooked up through this port. Most DVD, Blueray, and tuner boxes will have an HDMI out on them. You would still need to output your sound. There is a headphone out on the monitor, so with a mini jack and a set of pc speakers you should be able to get sound. If not you could always wire from the audio out to an audio in on a stero/surround sound system.

I would like to connect my my hp laptop to my Sony Grand WEGA KDP-57WS550 57 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television to watch netflix

You need to connect your PC to either your TV or your receiver. Also, if you have XBox, you can watch Netflix through it (thought I'd suggest, just in case).

Take your PC (or take a photo of your available outputs from your PC) and a photo of your available inputs (on your TV or receiver) to Best Buy or similar computer store. They can help you learn which connections you need.

Most likely you'll need a DVI to HDMI cable for video, and maybe a separate audio cable from your headphone connection on your PC to your TV (or receiver). You'll only need a separate cable for audio if your HDMI input on your TV does not support audio.

I am going through this same problem with my TV connecting Apple TV. I am checking now whether my old rear projection tv's HDMI input supports audio (same as yours). I've connected Apple TV to my rear projection TV. I have video, but no sound. Either my TV doesn't support HDMI audio, or I need to change a setting on the TV to enable that sound to work. If the TV does not support HDMI audio, I will need to connect Apple TV directly to my receiver via a digital optical cable for sound.

Hope this helps.

Why is the sound not working on my acer screen

How do you have the screen plugged in?
If via HDMI, audio should go to your screen, but you may need to output to speakers (that is, if your monitor does not have built-in speakers).
If indeed outputting via HDMI, make sure your computer KNOWS it's supposed to output audio through the HDMI port as well as the video.
Finally, you might just need to plug speakers/headphones into the monitor - most have an audio jack on the underside, by the stand.

I dont have a hdmi connection to my lg e2350vr flatron monitor and there is no sound is it because i dont have the hdmi lead

the dvi (or vga) connection from a graphics card to the monitor does not carry audio.

in this case, the cable doesn't matter because your monitor doesn't have speakers. it does have an 3.5mm headphone jack, but that is only to transfer sound if it had come in with hdmi cables.

if you want sound, you will need external speakers

Can you use an xbox arcade on flatron LG L1810T? If so which setting does it have to be on as the tv is not recognising the xbox at all

HI,
Your LG LCD monitor has a white DVI connector for connecting the signal cable.

You would reqire either an HDMI to DVI(male connector cable for the xbox) so that you can hook the hdmi cable to the xbox and other end to your monitor.
The cable would look something like this
