Found out that my tv does not have the infa red light on the front and it will not turn on
SOURCE: TV was on over night.
Do the following
Check the wall out let and ensure it has power. You can do it by connecting any other device in that out let.
If the out let is OK then check the connections at both the ends of the power cord. It can happen that contacts have burnt out due to power surge. Re-fix them. Test the power cord on any other device or outlet to make sure that it is OK.
If you still do not get power in your TV then I am afraid you have to replace the fuse OR change the Switch.

I'm going throught the exact same thing right now. After the lights quit blinking, and the blue light goes off, does the red lamp light stay on. This usually means your lamp has gone bad ($200.00 plus). But when I ordered the lamp, it did the same thing. Had to have the certified hitachi repair man come out for the and told me it had to be a bad lamp, so I ordered a 2nd one with the same result. He came out again and had to take the TV away, later telling me the ballast must have blown when the original lamp went bad. Another $200.00 part. I haven't fought this one with Hitachi yet but am going to try. The ballast shouldn'e go just because the lamp goes out. The set is only 21/2 years old and I've already had to spend about $700.00 on the light enging replacement and now this lamp and ballast expense. Love the TV but would expect a lot less problems from a $2500.00 top model Hitachi. I'm going to see if they feel the same way, hopefully not but I'm not real optimistic they will care. Hope this helps.

Hello,
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your tv power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Hope this help...

Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:
1. Open the back cover.
2.
Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main
board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light
inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5.
If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors
are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you
can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on
main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new
main board that fits to your TV..
Hope this solution will be helpful..
