I can sign in at work no problem but always get message error at home what could be the problem?
Must change the Yahoo Messenger connection settings
Your not leaving it logged in at work are you?
Anyways, if re-installing did work, try adding it to the exception list in the fire wall options.
Go to control panel, firewall settings in the security center, go to exceptions and check the box for it, apply and ok it. Then try again. Also, Un-install it completely before you Intsall it and make sure your internet explorer settings are set to default.
Try this and get back to me, and remember, reply to comments, dont repost or you will get different people trying to help you and several posts of the same thing.
Good luck
Have you tried uninstalling the program? If so it could be possible your firewall is blocking the program please try to uninstall from your control panel add remove programs restart and reinstall and see if you get the same problem.. also turn your firewall off to eliminate that.
Make sure there's no proxy settings on your yahoo messenger.
On your Yahoo Messenger,
click on Messenger > Preferences > Connection > select No Proxies.
Uninstalling and Reinstalling yahoo messenger should clear any error.
Go to Control Panel > Add Remove Programs then remove yahoo messenger. Reboot your computer then download the latest version of YM and install it.
Try to open another account now and checkout.it will not take time just 2-5 minutes to open a new account.and check out if same problem with new account.then email yahoo about this problem and they will resolve if the problem is from their side.and if the new account works properly then its the older account problem which u have opened before.or the internet problem.do you use the same internet fior office and home,
i mean from the same company or from differnt company.
Please clear Cookies in your Internet Explorer by going into Tools, Internet Options, Browsing History.
Hope sing-in problem will resolve.
The problem there can be your yahoo messenger at home , better if you can uninstall/reinstall it or try a different yahoo messenger version.....

You have to sign out completely at work or the system believes someone is attempting to piggyback - hack your email. Sign out at work as a habit and it should work correctly at home. This should help Diamond of the Rockies
First off most likely it is a firewall setting or anti-virus. Try and disable your windows firewall first and see if that helps. If not let me know and I will assist you further. Please take a moment to accept and rate my solution accordingly.
Thanks,

What operating system do you have? You should be able to go to Start>Settings>Control Panel> Windows Firewall-double click that icon. Once it opens disable the firewall. If you still need further assistance let me know. For future reference don't request additional help until I am finished assisting you. Please take a moment to accept and rate my solution.
thank you,
