You do not have to uninstall your IE9. Just use or download other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome etc....

SOURCE: Chrome is not shiney and won't uninstall or install

You can remove Google Chrome like any other Windows program. Follow these steps: Click the Start menu on your computer taskbar.
Select All Programs.
Select Google Chrome.
Select Uninstall Google Chrome.
Click the Yes button in the confirmation dialog box.

The uninstall process will begin and all your Google Chrome browser and application shortcuts will also be removed.
Alternatively, you can double-click Add or Remove programs in Window XP's Control Panel or Programs and Features in Windows Vista, select Google Chrome in the list, and click the Remove button.

Google Chrome leaves behind your profile information in case you wish to reinstall in the future. To delete this information, go to \Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome in Windows XP or \Documents and Settings\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome in Windows Vista.

Have just downloaded some essential updates from microsoft. Have now been told my Cannon MP640 wont now print off the web. I thing it was the latest Explorer 9 that did it but not sure. Cheers Robin

If you think IE 9 installation caused the issue then uninstall it and install IE8. IE9 is just barely out of beta stage and I feel might need to be adjusted or refined futher before full production use (my personal opinion). If it does not appeaer in your programs list then you could restore you system to a previous restore point. Check to verify that a restore point was created before IE9 was installed. After rolling your system back and re-installing the previous version you can install the IE9 blocker tool which stops the installation of IE9 through automatic updates. This tool does not prevent a manual installation of the browser, it only prevents the installation through automatic updates. I am currently using the tool on 5 of my personal computers.
I suggest using a virtual environment to test drive new release products to verify that everything works as expected before installing them on your personal computers and especially any work computers.

To uninstall Internet Explorer

The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

  1. Click the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.

  2. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

  3. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

  4. Click one of the following:

    • Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).

    • Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).

Note

After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9 RC, the previously installed version of Internet Explorer will be available on your computer. It is not necessary to reinstall.

Tried Explorer 9.....Wish to return to Explorer 8...What can I do ?

Downgrading from IE9 to IE8

1.Close all programs, click Start and click Control Panel.

2.Click "Uninstall a Program" under Programs category.

3.Click "View installed updates" option in the task pane.

4.Now select Windows Internet Explorer 9 shown under Microsoft Windows updates and click Uninstall and follow the instructions on the screen.

downgradetoie8fromie9_thumb.png

IE9 uninstall process lasts for minimum 3 minutes and you will be able to access Internet Explorer 8 as usual after restart.

Note:I recommend users to create a restore point before uninstalling IE9 because whenever you want to try IE9 you can get it through system restore option in windows.

OR

1. Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.
2. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.
3. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.
4. Restart your computer.

OR

You can restore your system 10 days before that will uninstall Version 9

Please let me know if it was of some help..

Thank you.

Uninstall IE8 and install IE7, the original IE, please.

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Add/Remove Programs
Click Show Updates
Select IE8
Click uninstall
This should "restore" your previous version of IE (6? 7?)

Or, if you're running Vista or 7, see: http://www.microsoft.com/ie9
and install "Internet Explorer 9 beta", i.e., a "pre-release" version of the _next_ version of IE.

Www.walmart.com/pharmacy I open site and login and it asks for DOB (Date of Birth)I enter it and then IE wont run script Keeps going back to signin page instead of advancing. Just cycles back and forth...

no pc stated (hp what>? model)
Vista
came with IE7 and IE9 updated is best. and last. IE9 needs SP2 loaded.
best means max allowed on VISTA.
running IE9 are you, ? most older versions of IE are not supported
now at most top web sites, due to expliotation weaknesses.
I would AVOID ALL IE , of any kind, IE11 will not loan on VISTA.
all IE version are not supported by MS now, they are all DEAD.]
means each day forward, IE will be exploited more... by the bad guys. Time to upgrade or drop IE period.

Run FF V55 ONLY. (my recommendation to you)

Run EDGE. (personally I lothe it) , not on XP or vista , can't do that.
Run FF, v55+
never use IE again, in fact forget it ever existed.
IMO

answer 2:
  1. your unstated OS is infected. corruption, reload it?
  2. your IE6 is full of malware rendering it useless like most are.
  3. or someone turned off javascrept in your IE brower.
  4. running vista with out SP2 loaded.

even back in 2010 many top web sites said
each web site in time dropped IE6, the 7 then 8,
they had to.
google IE8 support dropped
google same IE9 , id say most web sites support 9 and up.
so why not use IE9.....

upgrade to 9
or remove it and reinstall it if 9 if failing

and last read the offical page on wamart support
they do not support all browers 2001 to now, no.

Downloading 9.1

no idea at all what 9.1 means or is. IE9 PR1
do not run IE9 ever, run IE11, only.
or bad happens.
AOL 9.1? did you ask them first if it runs on XP
or VISTA. or on IE 5,6,7? it dont.
as them not use, we are not AOL, at all.

NO PC stated (HP Sumpthins.)
no OS stated (vast)
no telling what 9.1 means.
downloading what from where using what browser?.
my wild guess is you cant GET XP to work that it.
as do all XP owners now that its DEAD. and Vista too.

btw IE9 does NOT RUN or install on any XP box , period.

IE9 will run on Vista with SP2 loaded. ONLY
Vista too like XP can not run IE11,
IE11 is the last IE from MS , and is supported even under W10
W7/8/9 IE11 is MANDATORY !@@!

im not smart at all but can read

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer_versions

AOL says, no XP allowed

https://help.aol.com/articles/aol-desktop-software-installing-and-uninstalling

also learn if XP is there.(you)
most website now are banning, usage of XP
for sure all XP version of explorer. banned
for valid reasons..
