No screen saver

I want to be able to play audio CDs on this DVD player, using the speakers of my plasma TV. However, this DVD player (when playing a CD audio) puts an unchanging blue image on my Panasonic plasma (which must be powered on to use the speakers) which will burn in if I let it sit there too long. So playing a audio CD on my Panasonic DVD player will ruin my Panasonic plasma TV! Is there a way to play audio CDs without damaging my TV?

Depending on your tv there is a function to turn screen off. most tvs come with this feature. on the remote there will be an power key with a red or black button. this is to turn the screen off. if it does not have this function and there is no screen saver setting on the dvd play there is not much you can do for this situation .

SOURCE: Plays CDs but not DVDs

Melisha, I had a similiar problem. Go into the onscreen menu with the remote using the "ACTION" button on the bottom left of the remote. Using the arrow keys in the center of the remote, move to the menu for the audio processing. It will have menu items for DTS, Dolby Digital etc. Change the menu parameters for the "Down conversion" to "yes", get out of the menu mode and see if your DVD works again. If not, make sure there is no DVD or CD in the player, and press the "open/close", "pause" and the double left pointing arrow buttons all at the same time for about 5 seconds until the display on the DVD player says "INITIALIZE". This resets your machine. I hope this helps you.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be my cable that went from the dvd player to the TV. I replaced with new cable & everything worked fine again. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

SOURCE: panasonic DVD-RP56 Error H02

I read about removing the cover and spinning the motor by hand. It was suggested without power. I found that I had to have the unit powered up when I hand-spun the motor, then everything worked perfectly... we'll see for how long.

Dvd wont work.

First, is the DVD player output (Video out, audio out) connected to the TV input? Have you used the Yellow cable from  DVD video out to the TV video in? Mixing the audio and video cables will result in no signal. Have you selected the proper input with your TV remote control. Most plasmas accept a variety of input signals; you must select the right one. I deal with a number of these issues. Usually the connections are made improperly or the correct input source is not selected with the TV remote. Put a DVD in the player and press play. Be sure you have made the proper connection from DVD player video/audio out into an auxiliary or video input on the TV. These could be labeled Line 1 or Line 2.  With the DVD playing, run through the input options on your remote control. The button might be marked source, video or input. The screen should display your choices i.e. video 1, video 2, etc. When you see your DVD program, you've got the right combination.

Audio won't play on DVD - but it will play for CDs

Hello, you can verify that your receiver is working or not. When you are playing a dvd unplug the audio RCA plugs (red and white) from the back of the Sony dvd player. Touch the tips of each of the RCA plugs with your fingertip. You will hear a buzz sound coming from the speaker associated with the plug if the receiver is working\ i.e. touch the red RCA plug tip and the right speaker will hum...touch the white tip and the left speaker will hum or buzz. This will not hurt your system or speaker. If you do not hear the hum turn the volume to 3 or so and wet your fingertip and tap the tip of the RCA connectors. You will hear "pops" coming from the respected channel. I believe your cd\dvd is at fault. Good Luck!

Sony DVP-NS315 cant play only Video Disc

If you are using just a "yellow" ended cable for the video, maybe your custom settings are set to use "component"? I have been using this same dvd player for a while with the component video out and it works fine. I hope this helps.
