Camera olympus error D: 5f08 5e02

Hello, when you turn the camera, the lens comes out and then re-enters and the screen is blue and with a legend that says D: 5f08 5e02. As if I did not recognize the lens. The camera has not been beaten, or anything like that. What might be the problem, as it can solve

Hi, I have the same problem. When I turn on the camera, the lens comes out then the blue screen displays D: 5e02. I asked a local dealer *** service centre. He says the lens has to be replaced.

The error message (D: 5e02) means that your lens is dying / dead. It just happened to mine and I was told that it could be repaired, but it would cost as much as a new camera. I've only had mine 2 years and I've been really careful with it, so I'm a bit annoyed, but I have used it a lot!

I wrote to Olympus, Japan. They provided me with the addresses of the repairing centres in India. The cost of replacement of lens assembly is Rs 4600/-.

When I turn on the camera, for few seconds it shows the image trough the lense, but inmediately it seems to turn off, and this legend apears on the screen: D5 f 08 5 f 0a 5e02 5 f 085 e02 the battery is...

The error is a lens motor error. The lens is not able to properly move and the camera then gives the error message. Sometimes dirt can be stuck in the lens or it could just be a mechanical problem that needs repairs. If you point the camera lens toward the ceiling while turning it on this could help alleviate the problem. If you cannot do anything to get the camera to stay on you may need to contact Olympus for repairs.

My olympus stylus710 digital camera is currently not working. when we turn the camera on the lens opens and extends, quickly retracting. this happens several times before the unfocused screen turns blue...

That looks like a software error. Check that the battery is fully charged and read the manual at troubleshooting section. if you don't have one, seach on web and you`ll find it.

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Olympus mju 700 - error D: 5e02

Hello Jakub,
As you might already know that you are not the only one who is getting this error.. there are thousands of others with you .. If that makes you happy :D
This code is a troubleshooting service code for "malfunction of focus motor/sensor". It is a motor/sensor issue and is normally caused by sand or dirt in the lens cover mechanism. Try to turn on camera while holding it with the lens pointing up.
You might even try hitting the camera on your palm in that position (by hitting, i don't mean a real HIT .. be sure that you are gentle not to break the camera).
If that doesn't work then try this... when the lens is trying to come out and cannot come out completely then you can assist the lens by pulling it out manually (once again, understand that its a delicate camera and I don't want you to show how powerful you are by pulling it with all your mighty vigor.. be hard and gentle at the same time .. I hope you understand what i mean)

Please let me know if any of the above steps work for you and do rate the solution :)
All the best.

Regards,
Srinivas
