One of the u shaped bulbs is not lighting up. Above the plate and under the dome, there is what appears to be 2 small lightbulbs. One on each plug for each bulb. The small bulb on the side that won't light up, I find that If I touch the two wires connecting that bulb to the plug in on the top side, it will light the bulb. When I unplug the unit and plug it back in, the large bulb will not light up until I touch those wires together again. I need to purchase two of those small bulbs for my unit. The u shaped bulb works fine when transfered to the other side...Both Large u shaped bulbs are ok...Help???

My XL-15 had the same problem a few years ago. I had a broken wire on the fan, and the Ozone problem turned out to be a problem with the power supply. I had to send it in to have it repaired.

I had this same problem, after putting the new lamp in and taking it back out several times, I realized that I hadn't twisted it into place hard enough. I felt like I was going to break the bulb, but after a very firm twist and a snap, it turned on and is now working perfectly.

I can give you some possibilities. A loose connection, a broken or corroded wire and/or terminal end, dust or moisture on a circuit board, the plate needs cleaning, the contacts for the plate need cleaning, the bulb ballast needs to be replaced, the bulb may not be properly installed, the support posts for the plate need cleaning. These are all I can think of at the moment.

I have two of these, open them, cut and remove the 4 pin base and add a e27 regular light bulb socket and u can put your oen led bulb or led uv light
