We hope you've enjoyed being an AOL member and that we can help you again in the future. For security reasons, AOL accounts cannot be cancelled either online or through e-mail. You can get your AOL account cancelled either through phone, U.S. mail or fax.

To cancel your AOL account over the phone, all you need to do is call AOL® Member Services at 1-888-265-8008. You can speak to our representatives to get your account cancelled. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can also request the cancellation of your AOL account through the U.S. mail. Just send your request to:

If you prefer sending in your request through fax, please send it to us at 1-703-433-7283.

Notes:

If you choose to write or fax us, please include a brief note stating the nature of your request, the primary billing contact's full name, phone number, address, and handwritten signature.
In addition to that, for account security purposes please provide any one of the following:
The master screen name of the AOL account
The last four digits of the current method of payment (for your security, please include only the last four digits)
The answer to the account security question of the master screen name
Cancellation will take effect within 72 hours of receipt of your request and AOL will send you e-mail confirmation. Please note that AOL LLC reserves the right to charge and collect fees, surcharges or costs incurred before your cancellation takes effect. Thank you for using AOL.

did you try to setup the aol account properly...
these are instructions as per microsoft:

Add your AOL e-mail account to Outlook 2002 or Outlook 2003

1. Open Outlook.
2. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
3. Click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
4. Click IMAP, and then click Next.
5. In the appropriate boxes, type the following information:
   • Your Name Type your name as you want it to appear to other people.
   • E-mail Address Type your full AOL e-mail address that includes your screen name followed by @aol.com.
   • User Name Type your AOL screen name.
   • Password Type your AOL password.
   • Incoming mail server (IMAP) Type imap.aol.com.
   • Outgoing mail server (SMTP) Type smtp.aol.com.
6. Click More Settings.
7. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
8. Select the My outgoing server requires authentication check box.
9. Click Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
10. Click the Advanced tab, and in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) box, change the number to 587.
11. Click OK.
12. Click Next.
13. Click Finish.

Note To see other AOL folders such as Saved, Sent Items, Spam, and VOICEMAIL you must subscribe to the folder in Outlook.
To subscribe to or unsubscribe from an IMAP folder In Mail, in the Navigation Pane (Navigation Pane: The column on the left side of the Outlook window that includes panes such as Shortcuts or Mail and the shortcuts or folders within each pane. Click a folder to show the items in the folder.), click the Inbox for the IMAP (IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol): Unlike Internet e-mail protocols such as POP3, IMAP creates folders on a server to store/organize messages for retrieval by other computers. You can read message headers only and select which messages to download.) account that contains a folder you want to subscribe to or unsubscribe from.

1. On the Tools menu, click IMAP Folders.
2. Do one of the following: Subscribe to a folder
   
   1. Click Query.
   2. In the Folders box, click the folder you want to subscribe to. To select multiple folders, hold down CTRL while clicking folder names.
   3. Click Subscribe.

I have fios by itself for $42 monthly and I have the aol unlimited with can be used with fios for $9+ monthly...$104 should give you internet+cable+phone...however if you will be keeping aol then thats a seperate subscription!
