Hi, have you tried the various positions on the front part of the gearbox behind the 'chuck'?
If so, then Im afraid it must go in for repair. These are not an easy fix and personally I would recommend you ask for a 'quotation' as it could be just something simple to do with the 'Gearbox' selector, but it could also be something a lot more serious within the Gearbox.
Good Luck & Best Wishes, John..

I am hoping that you know Bosch has specific bits that fit their hammer drill. Not all bits will work with bosch. If you have the correct bits then your gears in the head of the drill are stripped or broke. Depending on the model some of the gears are metal and some are plasticand when the hammer drill is used and debri gets into the inside of the casing it will cause the gears to strip and after a while eventually the gear teeth will break off completely

Bosch 11241EVS won't hammer

Not all bits for hammer drills are the same as the slots in the sides of the shanks are different between makes . There is a standard between hilti and ramset drill bits but other makers have different ideas Check out the shanks of your drill bits and look for the slot that holds in the bit.

Hammer drill won't hammer

Without knowing which model you have: Most Bosch hammer drills use a plastic connecting rod to attach the piston to the rotating spindle. These are a common failure item and fairly easy to replace.

Where can I find a 240v Bosch 11240 SDS Max Rotary Hammer drill that I can take and use in Ghana

You'll be hard pressed to find one that doesn't run on 110v. You might be able to look on ebay and buy something from the UK like this for example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bosch-GBH4-32DFR-NEW-Multidrill-4Kg-Rotary-Hammer-With-Accessories-240V-/160648807099?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item25676a42bb

Or you could just get a power adapter. Make sure they will work for the amount of amps that the tool will be pulling.

Bosch 11247 rotary hammer will not hammer

SAME ISSUE *****SOLVED*****

You were on the right track but needed to go farther with top description without disassembly!!

I have a barely used Hammer drill also that will rotate and run motor but does not hammer in any position.

Grease is the issue.....

Heat and sitting causes the grease to weep out & even a small amount of dust binds up the hammer drill.

******SOLUTION*****

GREASE, GREASE & MORE GREASE....

REMOVE BIT....SQUIRT IN ALOT OF THE BOSCH GREASE HOLD LOCKING CHUCK OPEN. INSERT A SPLINED BIT INTO THE HOLE AND PLUNGE GREASE IN SLOWLY SEVERAL TIMES. REMOVE BIT & REFILL GREASE & REPEAT.....VOILA.....HAMMER WORKING AGAIN....

BE SURE TO USE LOTS OF GREASE & DUST COVERS ON Bosch HD WHEN WORKING. WE ALL ERROR AND FAIL TO MAINTAIN FROM TIME TO TIME!

Replacing cord on Bosch Hammer Drill

I don't know what model you have but most Bosch hammer drills have three or four screws on the backside of the handle that, when removed, let you split the handle from the motor housing and gain access to the switch and brushes. The screws may or may not be covered by a rubber, non-slip covering that you'll have to peel back to get at them.

Does the bosch hammer drill gbh4dfe have a thermal cutout

No, if it got hot and won't work you have another problem you can start troubleshooting by looking at the cord and continue thru to the brushes.

Hi, I hope both of my problems are related. The chisel is "stuck" and won't release. Also, the unit does not "hammer". The motor runs and when I select drill the unit spins. I...

you need to get that chisel out. If it was hammering with it before the end of the chisel might have broken and not coming into contact with the striker, if it did not then the end of the chisel might be damaged not allowing it to seat fully, either way get the chisel out and put in a regular bit and it will probably work.

Check the motor brushes for breakage, badly worn, or weak springs (heat damage). Keep track of brush wear pattern when removing and reinstall in the same orientation.
