Are the Wii Remotes Batteries dead? This can be a common problem as well as Wii Remotes becoming unsynced to the Wii. To resync the Wii remote:

1. Open The Small Door on the front of the Wii and Take the Battery Cover off of the Wii Remote.

2. Press the small red "Sync" button on the Wii and then Press the Small Red Button on the Wii Remote.

You should he a "beep" through your TV speakers that confirm your Wii Remote have been reconnected.

Wii remote does not have little hand/arrow

First, follow these guidelines to ensure you have set up the system properly to have the optimal environment in which to use the Wii Remote:
  • Check to make sure the Sensor Bar cord is inserted into the back of the Wii console and the Sensor Bar is centered above or below your TV screen
  • Make sure you are using fresh batteries in the Wii Remote.
  • The Wii Remote Controller should be used between 3 to 10 feet from the TV.
  • Make sure no objects are blocking the signals between the Sensor Bar, the Wii console, and the Wii Remote.
  • Check for interference from infra-red light sources, such as candles, sunlight, fireplaces, and stoves.
  • Radio frequency interference may cause the Wii Remote to work erratically. Check for wireless devices such as cordless phones, wireless computer keyboards or mice, or other similar devices, and move or turn them off.

Hello there

Hold the Wii Remote upside-down with the buttons facing downward.

Tap the remote firmly against the palm of your hand three times to remove any dust sitting between the buttons and the electronic circuit board inside the remote.

Turn the remote upright and press one of the buttons. If the problem continues, Open your Wii Remote's battery door

Check that your Wii Remote contains two new "AA" batteries or a charged battery pack. Check that no corrosion is present on the battery's metal elements/connectors.

Use a cotton swab to clean the remote's battery element/connectors if corrosion is present.

Check that the Sensor Bar cable is inserted firmly into the back of your Wii gaming system. The Sensor Bar needs to be centered above or below your television so the Wii Remote can transmit signals to the gaming system.

Stand three feet away from the Wii gaming system/Sensor Bar.

Aim the remote and press any button to test the device.

If the remote is not working, stand five to 10 feet away from the gaming system and try the device. The Wii Remote works best three to 10 feet away from the gaming system/Sensor Bar.

Move any objects blocking the signal from the remote to the gaming system/Sensor bar--candles, other remote controls (TV/cable box) and wireless computer devices/cellular phones.

Also, if any sunlight is coming in through a window, close the curtains or blinds to keep the light from interfering with the remote's signal.

Turn off and unplug your Wii gaming system. Leave the unit unplugged for one minute. Plug the gaming system back in.

If the remote still aint working;

Turn the Wii system on. Press and hold the red "SYNC" button for 15 seconds when the "Health and Safety" screen appears on your television. The "SYNC" button is behind the small door on the front of your Wii unit.

Release the "SYNC" button. Remove the battery cover and batteries/battery pack from the back of your Wii Remote.

Press and release the red button located under the battery compartment. The blue lights on the front of the remote will blink

Press and release the "SYNC" button on the front of your Wii gaming system. The "Player" light on the gaming system stops blinking and stays on, the resetting process is complete

My power has gone off and on a couple of times today and now the WII will not power up. Can you help?

hello,

When the power goes off during using the Wii system and shuts off, the Wii system has possibly over heated. This may be caused by poor ventilation or the vents may be blocked.
The system not power on is a general hardware failure message. In this particular case, his hardware failure is with the blu-ray drive. if the system is overheating, it will tell you so in the top right hand corner. It will say the system has overheated and is shutting down to avoid further damage.
Provide a proper vent for the system...

Cannot access options on the left hand side of the start screen.

Did she put the DVD in backwards? A normal DVD movie should not affect the Wii system in any way, regardless. If it's still under warrenty, I recommend you back up your save games and Miis, then ship if off to Nintendo using their Repair Order request.
