The System / Motherboard has faulty Power Circuit. Contact HP and arrange a repair. If under warranty won't cost anything.

SOURCE: Won't turn on

Try removing the battery and then plug it in. If it starts up put the battery back in it and try again.

It may be a hardware error. Call HP and see about your warranty.
A lot of HP's new laptops have hardware defects, which could happen at any time from the day you buy it. Have it sent in and have it repaired for free.

Hello,

Test the adapter with another laptop in other to confirm if truly the adapter is still good. If the adapter works, then it means your laptop is having a power problem.

This has nothing to do with the battery because whether or not the battery is good or bad, that doesn't say the laptop shouldn't work with the adapter.

So the problem as to be either from the laptop's power board or from the AC adapter.

Tale care.

Hi

This seems like a power management problem on the motherboard.

Disconnect the power cable. Remove the small silver CMOS battery for 2 minutes to clear the BIOS Memory. Reinstall the battery and reconnect the power.

Look carefully at the power lines coming from the Power Supply Unit (PSU) and make sure that no one power channel is powering an unequal load of devices. Try and divide the load as evenly as possible amonst the power lines.

If none of this solves the problem, then consider upgrading the fitted 300W PSU to one with a higher Wattage, as 300W is on the low side for current standards. 450W-500W is more typical nowadays. The higher the Wattage you can afford (up to a 650W maximum for this particular specification of PC) the better

A higher wattage PSU will work well within its capacity and therefore under less strain than the current one. The symptoms you describe could be signs of the current PSU straining at the limits of its performance range to power all the devices inside as well as maintaining the computer's heavy workload of interaction with all the devices connected to it.

I hope this helps.

The problem could be with the battery. Try plugging the laptop in with the battery removed and see if it boots. If it does, then the problem is most likely a dead battery; but before you go out and buy a new one, leave the battery out of the laptop for about 24 hours and let it drain its battery, and then give it one last try. If it still doesn't boot, then its possibly the motherboard and the laptop needs to be replaced. Best of luck!

Power/battery problem

hi, try removing the batt press and hold the power down for 1 minute, dont replace battery yet, plug in charger, boot up then shut down. replace battery and boot.
if this fails you could also try changing your power settings in control panel. change to minimal power managment.
remove the adapter while laptop is on and allow to completly drain(untill it switches off)
then try reboot.
