Door lock stuck

The door opened during a cycle, now the lock mechanism will not release. I tried unlocking the door by holding the door switch and starting a cycle and then pausing it but the actual mechanism appears stuck.

I solved the problem. You have to remove the entire lock mechanism, disassemble it and reset the lock mechanism manually.

If the mechanism is jammed, you might have to remove or loosen the entire front panel to reach back to the back side of the lock and work on it.

Door on WD420 will not open

There is an electrically controlled lock on the door that prevents opening while the machine is in operation, and sometimes for a short period after a cycle has finished.

Sometimes this lock can get stuck and requires some persuasion to release.

This may sound odd but try it:

Make a fist with your hand and bang the door, near the latch, with the side of your fist. Do this firmly, but obviously not so hard that you will damage the door or, more importantly, your hand. This can often release the latch that should have released automatically.

Cannot unlock door lock

Can't help on the lock release, but will say that OFTEN the detergent will not dump if it is filled too much. Leave a little space.

Door locked.

The first step would be to unplug the AC power. See if the lock releases. If it doesn't release try plugging the power back in after 5 minutes. One of these tips should should work.
You will still need to find out why it got stuck. Often the reason is grease on the mechanical parts of the lock. Sometimes it's the internal switch that activates the lock during the self cleaning cycle.
Until you fix the problem do not use the self cleaning feature. Good luck

The drum in the washing machine has opened during a wash cycle and is now blocked. how do i release it?

Hi.

I guess that when you say that the drum in the washing machine has opened you mean that the washing machine door has opened, and that the door lock is now stuck.

Try tripping the circuit breaker or disconnecting the power cord for a couple of minutes, to see if this can reset the appliance and unlock the door. While the machine is disconnected , remove load and empty water using a sponge.

If disconnecting power does not fix the issue, and the door is still stuck , then you may need to replace the door latch mechanism and the solenoid that may had been damaged when opening.
In that case call the manufacturer at the number listed on the owner manual.

Im having trouble with my maytag neptune tl washer it wont finish the spin cycle

Please see the following Whirlpool / Maytag service manual for Neptune washers.
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/dc59d905140253e18525729c005765f4/$FILE/Maytag_Neptune_Washer.pdf

On page 3-1 the manual explains that if the washer shuts off during the spin cycle, the problem points to a weak spring in the door lock mechanism.

"Shuts OFF In The Middle Of The Spin Cycle:
During the spin cycle, the machine control
monitors the door lock mechanism to ensure
the door is locked. This is done through the
door lock enable switch. During "lock mode,"
the shaft of the door lock mechanism is
pressed forward by the door lock wax motor,
and the shaft presses in the button of the door
lock enable switch. If the machine control
board sees the switch OPEN during the spin
cycle, the machine control board will automatically
shut the washer OFF. This is caused
by a weak spring in the door lock wax motor.
Replace the complete door lock mechanism.

Door locked after cancelling self clean option

Open the door. In the upper left corner, press and hold the door switch (the one that controls the inside light). Start a self clean cycle and wait for lock motor to engage. When the lock stops moving it should be in the unlocked position. Press cancel to stop the self clean.

If you need more assistance let me know.
Good luck!

Whilrpool Self Cleaning Range Door won't unlock

try this 1. Verify error code by pressing and holding CANCEL/OFF key for 5 seconds.
Momentarily (less than 5 sec.) press CANCEL key again to remove error code
display.
2. Press and hold any key for 1 minute until F2 E0 code is displayed.
3. Cancel F2 E0 error code.
4. Program and start the clean mode. Observe to see if door locks. If it does not,
inspect the locking mechanism from the solenoid to the latch pawl and door to
find the cause of the problem. If the door is not locking, then 1 minute from the
start of clean, the F5 E1 code will again be displayed. Steps 1 through 3 will
have to be repeated before another clean can be started.
5. Once any mechanical problems with the latch mechanism have been corrected,
program and start a clean cycle (after, if necessary, clearing F5 E1 error code)
to ensure proper operation of the door lock. Immediately cancel the clean mode to observe proper operation of door unlock

Frigidaire range

Unplug the unit, then manually depress and hold the light switch on the frame of the unit while plugging it back in. The lock should go back into the proper position.
