Sound Input problems

My acer 8100 travelmate does not seem to work with skype. Sound output is not bad, but input is terrible. Drops my skype connection after 30 seconds. All other pc's run fine on same connection. Everyone I connect with tells me it sounds like my head is in a tin can. Mic is good quality and works well on other systems. I have adjusted all other settings to boost mic etc.

What you have to do is go to your speaker volume icon in the taskbar, right click and go to open volume control and click mute microphone. If mic does not show click Advanced. This dissables the onboard mic but allows the use of your external microphone, rectifying the tinny sound.

The power adapter id under powered by 1.32A that is why it takes a long time to charge and it is putting a lot of stress on the adapter and could cause it to overheat. The ticking sound could be the thermal cut out cutting the power to the laptop to prevent the power adapter from failing.

Terrible sounding / input on win 7 64 bit with usb sound drivers

looked for drivers from logitech - none besides setpoint - which didnt help

some fixed issue with a hub - tried - this didnt work either

workaround found
set output quality to lower than 44.1 16 bit - and sound clears right up.

Mixer not working with Skype

Skype allows only one audio input at the time. You can set up the input device in the skype menu.
Try connecting all microphones to the Mackie and then connect the output from it to the line in or microphone input on the PC, then choose the input you connected it to in skype.

Can I use a plug in microphone to use skype on a Dell precision M70

I haven't set up Skype before, but it seems quite reasonable that if the Sound control panel is set to use the external microphone, that would work. Have you checked to see if the sound input is set to an internal microphone built into the laptop, or a line-level input? That could be your problem, especially if no such microphone is present.

The pre installed microphone in my mac doesn't seem to work

Try going into your system preferences. Click on the sound prefs->choose input->you should make sure that the internal microphone is selected. You can also adjust the input level and visually confirm that the microphone is working with the input level meter. Hope this helps

Voyager 520 headset on a macbook, trying to use skype

have you gone into system preferences/sound.input/output settings?
try making a free test call, and you can play around with all your settings that way...also helps to keep the volume turned down on your mac, and just adjust it using your headset.

Acer LCD Monitor AL2671W - screen too bright!

I had the same problem with my TV when I purchased it used. Select the input you are having troubles with and enter "Service Mode" by pressing and holding the "VOL - " button and "CHAN + " buttons on the TV, simultaneously until the screen flashes red one time.

At this point you will be in service mode. Pressing the "MENU" button will open a service menu, which is different from the typical user menu. From the service menu you can further adjust your image settings until you have a decent picture.

Initially my VGA input looked terribly bright and washed out. Now it looks incredible!
