If you are looking at the back of your tv there is the stand bracket with a screw on each side. remove those screws and nothing will happen. that is the problem i was having but if you look right above the ones you just took out and there is going to be a black screw. take those off from each side and it will fall off.

My problem was I put on the wall mount on the tv before removing the stand. Turns out the top two screws that needed to be removed to remove the stand was under the wall bracket mounted on the tv. I removed the wall mount bracket and found the screws. I felt pretty stupid.....

How do I remove the stand from my 42lg50 tv

If you mean the original stand, place the TV LCD panel down on a table that is covered with a soft cloth. Look at the bottom center of the back of the TV and remove the 4 Philips head screws. Once the screws are removed, pull the stand away from the TV. The base can be removed from the stand body by removing another 4 screws that are at the top of the stand body.

See page 12 of the user manual available from the LG support page: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-42LG50.AUS . The current link to the manual is https://gscs-b2c.lge.com/downloadFile?fileId=KROWM000196216.pdf .

I hope this helps. If you have put a third party VESA stand on the 42LG50, you may have to remove the TV from the stand to reach the mounting plate.

I am trying to wall mount my LG M197WDP - PZ 19'' TV but it has an ugly spigot that fixes to the free standing base. How can I remove this spigot? Thanks Dave

It's simple!
Step 1: Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the red plate off the bottom.
Step 2: Pop the red plate off (May need some persuasion! It should pop straight out, there is nothing else holding it in place, but be careful)
Step 3: Unscrew the four screws holding the spigot in place, and remove the spigot.
Step 4: Screw the 4 screws bach in place.
Step 5: Screw the red plate back into place.
Step 6: Enjoy!

The screws broke off when trying to remove the tv stand from my LG 42lg30. Is there any other way to remove the base stand? thanks

If you broke one of the base stand screw you will need to do as follow:

Remove the remaining screws of the stand and try to remove the stand, if you cant you will need to remove the back cover of the TV and then you will be able to remove the stand, remove the broken screw and put it all back.

It is pretty easy but if you feel you cant do it let me know and I can give you a detailed step by step guide.

Stand Removal

Hi Trevor,

I haven't looked at the 47LG6000 yet, but I'll think that there are 4 screws on the back that you have to unscrew to release the socket. It may be taht there's also a clip that you have to push.

Remove base from television

Remove 2 screws on the back bottom by the stand.

Remove 4 screws, two on each side about 3/4 of the way toward each edge.

Pull TV up to remove from stand. Put plate and 2 screws back.

Can see this if you download the manual from the hitachi site. Just do a search for the model no. on their site's search engine.

So to remove the stand lay the TV on its screen and remove the two screws that are vertically in line next to the power socket the the 2 screws that are vertically in line under the RGB socket. The stand then pulls out from the bottom of the TV.

Remove stand from LG 50PC5D

There are four screws in the back of the TV above where the stand is. Inbetween the screws is a metal handle that pulls out. These four screws need to be removed and the metal handle pulled out. Then the TV will come off the stand.974336c.png
