Cool water comes out on warm water setting.

When the washing machine is set to hot or cold water, the water comes out at the right temp. When the water is set to warm, it comes out cool. Not room temp, not cold, but kind of cool. The washer is brand new.

I have the same problem! They say warm is set to 75 degrees? That sounds pretty cold to me. Our clothes are not being washed and now we shrunk them all trying to mix hot and cold because the hot is very hot.

cold and hot water temperatures are fine but the 'warm' water temperature is barely warmer than cold. Water input rates are good, so no blockages, anyway washer is brand new.

The water that is coming from the hot water pipes is likely not hot because it cooled down while sitting in the pipes. We had similar issues with hot water not being ready when our appliance needed it. We heard about Redytemp from our plumber. We have yet to have anymore problems with having hot water when needed.

Why does cold water mix with the hot when the switch is set on hot

Depending on the age of the unit you may be looking at a faulty switch. Sometimes the contacts for the cold water solonoid on the switch may be fused shut and therefore you will always get cold water no mater what you select. If hot water is what you need the easy way to do this is select hot water and close the tap for the cold water until needed again. Hope this helps

Whirlpool model WTW5310VQO

i've found problems with the temp. switch on this washer part number W10184148 and it's around 40 dollars, also on the rinse cycle the washer only uses cold water.what happens when you use just the hot?i had a lady that her water would start to fill and then the water would stop and the pipes in the house would start making a banging sound.if you order the part from http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Switch/W10184148/1468990 repair clinic and if this isn't your problem which i think it is from how you discribe it you can send the part back and get your money back for up to a year.good luck with your washer and next time you buy something and it doesn't work right get right on it

Water temp setting of warm gives cool water

Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally. If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests:Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on.Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct. Is there hot water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it.

Whirlpool washing machine...only uses hot water

Make sure the hoses are connected correctly to the water valve on the machine. The connections will be marked with an "H" and a "C".

Given they are correct, most current washing machines have and auto temp feature on the water fill. It allows even cold water settings to bring in some hot water to make sure the water temp is hot enough to efficiently disolve your laundry detergant. The preset temps are usually around 75* for cold, and 105* for warm. Hot water comes in at whatever temp your household water temp is.

Cold water starts and stops when washing

sounds like your washer has an auto temp. control if so the washer mesures the temp of the water and put in the manufacture set temp for that setting this board could be bad alowing only cold water to come into the machine. you could also have low hot water pressure at the washer be sure the hot water is turned all the way on. you may want to check to make sure no trash is in the hot water side of the water valve there is a screen in there where the hose conects you can remove that screen and clean it im sure one of these solutions will help you

Hot/Cold water knob will not work on washing machine

Does the water flow when you have it on warm or cold settings?  If on warm setting and water flow is cold, its probably the mixing valve.  This part isnt that expensive, and not that hard to replace.  Remove the two front console caps, remove the two console hold down screws then flip the console out and then over the top.  You will see two gold cabinet hold down clamps, pop them out, the lift the whole cabinet off the unit.   You will see the mixing valve right where the inlet hoses connect to the machine.  Let me know if you need further help.
