CD player acknowledge CD, starts to play, then stops

System is about two years old. In the last week the CD player acknowledges a CD, starts to play, then stops. The CD still continues to spin-you can hear it, but it won't play. The numbers of the tracks come up initally when it starts to play then goes to two dashes. Have tried several times to clean it, and it won't even acknowledge the cleaning CD enough to play it. Have tried several different cleaning discs and it won't acknowledge any of them. Help!
The system is a Trutech T200-B portable CD player with AM/FM radio.

Cd player won't rip certain cds

"Quality" of the CD's has a lot to do with it. The lower the quality, the more likely better CD burners won't acknowledge them.

When I try to listen to the cd's, it won't play them. It tries to acknowledge them but the player won't play them

CD players commonly will not recognize some types of CD, eg MP3 recordings, or maybe CD-RW recordings.

However if this is happening with CDs that would previously play OK, then it could be

- scratched or dirty CD surface
- contaminated laser lens in the player
- laser lens has become misaligned

The last 2 need a service technician, but it may be cheaper to buy a new player.

Clarion DB365USB head unit won't play songs from 8GB flashdrive

The reading of flash drives and MP3 discs vary from each manufacturer. Usually, ten folders with music in each folder will work on most. To the best of my knowledge, Clarion reads well. When all else fails, you can always just drag and drop all the MP3's without folders. I know it's not as easy "finding" songs that are in folders but seems like you can't do that anyway.

I know this is lame, but the manual ALWAYS describes HOW to make the disc (folder trees etc.)

Computer will no longer read. play or even acknowledge dvds or cd

Try this:

How to fix the CD player

1. Go to System/Library/Caches and trash the folder com.apple.kernelcaches
2. Go back to System/Library and trash the file Extensions.kextcache
3. Restart.
If that doesn't work, try trashing this file:
~Home/Library/Preferences/CD Info.cidb
That is the way its done

Wont play cd

I would suggest trying some sort of laser cleaning device. You can pick one up at Target or Wal*Mart. How it works is there are a few small brushes on what looks like a normal CD. When you insert this into your CD player, the brushes run over the laser head and remove dust and other particles from it. This can help when discs are unreadable, or if there is static while trying to play a disc. Hope this helps!

Turns

When you say turns off do you meen power switches off or just stops playing.A good test is to play a cd,if this plays ok the problem is more than likely laser related and with the cost of replacing the laser being so expensive,it can be cheaper to replace player itself.Have you tried cleaning the lens assy with cleaning disc??
