The manual does not demonstrate how to unlock the region code. It is suppose to be a multi region dvd player but when I change the country code it does not allow me to play region 2 dvd's. I have read that firmware is required to unlock the code but I am not sure how to do this. The manual does not demonstrate how to unlock the region code. When a DVD disc is created, it is encoded with a "Region number." The disc will only play on DVD players with the same Region number - for instance, a Region 3 disc won't play on a Region 1 player.
Region 1: U.S. and U.S. Territories, Canada
Region 2: Japan, Western Europe, Middle East, South Africa
Region 3: South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southeast and East Asia
Region 4: New Zealand, Australia, Pacific Islands, Mexico, Central/ South America
Region 5: Russia and the former Soviet Union, Africa, Indian
subcontinent, North Korea
Region 6: China
The only way to get around the region codes, is to rip a DVD to your computer and remove the region code. Then burn the DVD to a DVD R. There are programs around on the net, but I'm not sure it is legal in all countries.
Google for the programs.
A DVD player sometimes allows you to change the region code once. But it not even would allow you to switch back after you changed it once.
Introduction The Px4x DVD Upgrade is an advanced modification to your DVD player, which adds extra features and enables you to get more from your machine. The upgrade supplements the DVD player and in no way harms the playback quality or removes any performance features of the DVD player.
Main Features The DVD Upgrade adds the following features to your DVD player: Multiregion capability Macrovision disable
Players Supported The following DVD players are supported by this version of the DVD Upgrade:
Modification Details Multiregion selection Nearly all DVD discs on the market today are encoded with a specific "region" in mind and are made in such a way that a disc designed for "region 1" will not play on a player designed for "region 2". This is so that the Hollywood studios can control the release of titles in different geographical regions all over the world. Our upgrade allows you to select between regions 1 to 6. Macrovision & CGMS disable All DVD players have a system called Macrovision built in to the player, which is designed to stop the copying of DVD discs to video. However, this system can have adverse affects on some projectors. For this reason the DVD Upgrade disables Macrovision to solve any problems.
Operating Instructions You can select the region code by remote. This region will be tried first when playing a disk. Due to this design, the modification will work on the RCE (Regional Code Enhancement) protected DVD’s. In some cases it will be necessary to insert a conventional (non RCE protected) disc before playing a RCE protected disc. Follow the instructions as detailed bellow:
1. Turn the player on without a disc in it 2. On the remote control, press 'SETUP' 3. Use right arrow to select 'General' 4. Use down arrow to select 'Basic' 5. Press 'ENTER' on the remote control 6. Press 'Display' on the remote control You should see the region code and OSD version that the player is set to 7. Press 'Condition/Memory' 8. Press '1', '2', '3', '4', '5' or '6' to change the region code of the player The text will disappear 9. Press ' Display ' on the remote to control the region 10. Press 'SETUP' on the remote to exit. Play the disc This dident work for me but mayby work for you.
Dear friends in problem solving.
My husband actually solved this problem by writing in the browser: Manual for Pioneer DV-410V DVD player.
That was available online and there it said that not all formats was supported by the USB port, so we tried to load a movie on a pen drive, insert it in the player and it opened and we just clicked play, so it was actually an issue of having an incompatible video file on the pen drive that made it not open in the first place.

The manual does not demonstrate how to unlock the region code. It is suppose to be a multi region dvd player but when I change the country code it does not allow me to play region 2 dvd's. I have read that firmware is required to unlock the code but I am not sure how to do this.
