Samsung ML-1210 laser printer parallel-to-USB printing, not printing
I'm having a problem with my old ML-1210 on my new desktop running Windows Vista. I have a parallel-to-USB cable connected and my computer recognizes the printer. The newest Samsung drivers are all installed. The demo prints perfectly fine when I hold down the demo button on the printer so there's ink and the rollers are fine. When I try to print the demo page through the software under the Properties tab of the actual printer, the printer spools up, but nothing prints, and the queue shows the print job for less than a second and is gone, there's no error, like the job printed and was processed. So I'm stuck because I know the printer works, but it seems the data is not making it to the printer from the computer. Any help?

Scroll down. Under Products Support please click Universal Print Driver. Scroll down a bit. Under Downloads select your operating system. Hope this helps. Thanks
Unplug printer and un install software. Delete printer in printers folder. Restart pc. Install software first and then connect printer. Also make sure your usb drivers is correct.
If both printers are connected through a parallel switch, be advised that changes on the switch do not take effect until the computer is restarted. Those boxes worked fine under DOS, but Windows does not support them. Connect the Samsung printer to the USB port and make sure you use a good quality cable and not those thin and cheap cables.
Assuming the printer can understand DOS coded printouts (which most should be able to), you can do it like this:
Go to Control Panel | Printers | ML 2010 and share the printer.
Then go to a command prompt Start | Run | type cmd
Assuming that you share it with the share name "MYPRINTER" and the computer is called "MYCOMPUTER", then type
NET USE LPT2: \\MYCOMPUTER\MYPRINTER /PERSISTENT:YES
at a command prompt. Now you can print to LPT2: and the output will go to the USB-connected printer.
To find your computer name, right click on the My Computer icon (either on your desktop or the start menu) and choose properties. The window that opens will have a Computer Name tab.
