How do you open an ipod classic?

Hello sir,

i have an 80 GB ipod classic which was underwater ( fresh) for a brief period of time. water went inside and was dried out using a hair blower. but if i want to be sure, i want to open it up and dry it some more before turning it on. i am afraid of the hard drive which got wet and if it would function again.

thank you in advance,

Open the iPod classic and clean the logic board. If that doesn't help, the board needs replacement (it is available on ebay. ) Here's a guide on how to disassemble an iPod classic. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to pay to have a service do it for you there are third party iPod Repair Services.

Sir, i have a apple ipod classic 80 gb but recently i cannot hear at one side of the headphone may be the reason i hve dropped it so i need to know how much cost to fix it in ...

Usually if you can only hear sound from one side of the headphones then it is often due to a problem with the headphones rather than the iPod.
Try a different pair of headphones and see if the audio improves. Otherwise, I would recommend inRepair, based in india to get a quote on a repair.

Will not charge or turn on

Plug your Ipod into your computer. Hold down both the Menu Button (on/off button) and the center button( just below the screen) for 15-30 seconds. You should see the Apple sign after that time. Mine died and was revived this way.

80 GB Ipod Classic shows locked and click wheel not working

Slide the switch on the top of the ipod to where it shows white instead of orange. If it is already off hold, then you may have a broken hold switch.

I dropped my ipod classic 80 gb. It can't be detected when i sync to my computer. I did a hard restart but it it says that my files will be deleted when i restore it with itunes. I dont wanna lose my files...

The only way to save the files is by connecting it to pc and storing them in a file. Try checking the usb connection inside the ipod. If there are any broken wires or solder joints, re-solder them or anything you can do to get it to connect.

Try connecting it, go to control panel, the ipod should be able to found on the I: drive.

My Ipod classic 80 gb is frozen and won't turn on or charge!! HELP!!!!!!!

If it keeps happening (and your hear clicking or repetitive sound from inside) you have a broken hard drive. Open the iPod classic and replace the hard drive. The part is available on ebay. Here's a guide on how to disassemble an iPod classic. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to pay to have a service do it for you there are third party iPod Repair Services.
