Vertical flickering color lines instead of pictures

I watched the Tv the previous Night, turn it off and went to Bed. The following day, when I turned the tv on all I get are bunch of flickering vertical lines in all kinds of color you can imagine. Even when I tried to get into the menu, I still get vertical lines just in diffrent colors. In summary, the tv is just showing vertical lines in diffrent colors (the colors are constantly changing I guess depending on what is supposed to be showing on the Tv at that particular time.) Pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when television is turned on sound comes on but picture only shows vertical colored lines. As the unit plays longer the lines become a neon green color. Sometimes the picture comes in but then it fades to a total black screen.

Soory man there is no deflection yoke or vertical output IC in a plasma TV set.LOL This person has a problem with whats called the substain power supply or bad caoacitors in the main supply. there is also a possibility that the set has a bad tuner. Only performing test on the set will determine the problem.

The clicking you hear is probably caused by a relay that controls the incoming AC to the main power supply. This is a protective reaction to a problem in the power supply itself or an overload due to a failure downstream from the supply. This is not a likely DIY repair. You will probably need a technician to determine which of these two likely problems it is.

Sony KP75HW40 unstable red. (not the usual problem)

I would suggest either the Focus block or the RED CRT drive board either one of those items could cause the symptom. A defective CRT could also, but a shorted CRT doesnt usually go back to being normal

TV picture flickers

If your DVD player is separate from your tv, you might have a loose cable plug or connection. Depending on the type of flicker you have, a vertical circuit loose connection would cause this. If you could connect it to a cable or antenna it might tell you where the problem is located. A faulty circuit in the DVD might cause this too. Stargazer
