It is probably your wheel bearings. Although, it is possible that your CV Axle could be damaged.

SOURCE: loud humming noise from front end of Durango 4 x 4

You have a hub/wheel bearing going out. You need to jack up the vehicle on each side. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to move it in/out at the top and bottom. If this does not work then roll the wheel as fast as you can and see if you can hear which one it is. Good Luck.

Loud popping noise in passenger side front suspension when turning left. 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T

A loud 'cracking' or rumbling noise suggests that a wheel bearing needs replacing. On front wheel drive cars a worn driveshaft universal joint can cause the same noise

1992 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder. Low rumble and vibration as I accelerate or highway speed. Decelerate rumble and vibration go away? Need an answer! Thanks

See if the wheel bearings are ok Sometimes if you jack the vehicle up and spin the tires by hand you can find this. Just a thought as mine did that and noise went away after it was repaired.

Have you checked the REAR whell bearings? Sometimes even when the noise appears to come from the front, the rear bearing can be the ones. Happende to me in my older Spirit R/T. By spinning the rear Wheel with an old impulsor motor in a Wheel balancing/alignment shop, the technician showed me that it wasn't a front drive problema, but rear bearings getting some moisture inside and going bad. It made a worse glowl when turning to one side. Amclaussen.

2003 jetta gls rumble in the front end

sounds like a gearbox bearing ,,,this sounds like a growling noise usually when accelerating although as the problem gets worse it can happen constantly ,,, wheel bearings can growl too but will give a constant noise regardless of acceleration ,,, you need to see to this quickly as the more you drive you will cause more damage and cost to you ,,,,bearings will fix it in the early stages but if more damage is done you could have to pay for new gears and shafts which is expensive

My car is making a loud noise from the front end and vibrates when you accelerate. When i turn the wheel to the left it squeals and sometimes there is a clunking noise. Could this be a ball joint? I have...

You may have a cv joint about to fall out.To repair this ,the whole axle will have to be replaced.Axle is about 59.00 at NAPA auto parts. But do check the play in the wheeel, jack the car up one one side in the front and then the other.Check the wheel,by hand grab the wheel on top,and the bottom, and see if you can move the wheel in or out,up,or down. Then check the wheel by doing the same thing, side ways.Grab the wheel(tire) on each side, and move it in,and out up,and down, and move it like the wheel is turning,to the right, and to the left.Do this all with the steering wheel locked straight. If there is any movement, look at where the give is in the steering parts, and ball joints, and bearing.Do this while moving the wheels. Then do the other side the same way.I hope this was helpful, please let me know.

Have a mechanic look at your front end. Find out what it is then fix it. could be ball joints, tie rods, rotors or a number of other things.Did your bearings go bad before this new set? could they have ruined the spindal or the hub?

I have front end vibration that is not caused by alignment. New tires on all four wheels but still have alot of front end vibration. Car is a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon.

just checked this out a while ago:

Wheel Hub Assemblies: Systems and Diagnosis of Worn Hub Assemblies & Bearings
Front wheel hub assemblies and bearings control the position of, and reduce the resistance of, vehicle wheels in contact with the pavement. When they fail, front wheels may not be kept in position and vibration and noise usually develop. Symptoms that normally develop as a result of these worn parts include:
  • A humming, rumbling or growling noise which increases with acceleration or as the vehicles turns
  • Vibration felt in the steering wheel, which changes with vehicle speed or as the vehicle turns
  • Looseness or excessive play in the steering wheel (especially while driving over rough road surfaces)
  • A loud, constant grinding noise when driving the vehicle (heard in the most severe cases of a wheel bearing failure)
  • Pulling to one side when braking.
  • Roughness - with the vehicle of the ground, roughness or vibration when rotating the wheel
  • Looseness - with the vehicle off the ground, looseness when wiggling the wheel back and forth (Looseness may also indicate a worn ball joint)
  • Excessive brake pedal play can also indicate sloppy or excessively loose wheel bearings
  • ABS failure in the system may be related to failure of the ABS sensor in the hub assembly or the internal sensor in the wheel bearing
