HP LaserJet 2840 quit working when we were installing firmware update and power to building went off for a few seconds.

firmware corruption issue you will need to remove that printer from computer screen then reinstall it

then do firmware installation pre upgrade to stabilize(use cd or download of older version of firmware

once that's done then try the update again which won't work if old firmware is corrupted

Washed screen with windex now tv won't turn on

Flat screens should never be washed. You should only wipe it with a lens cloth or lint free duster. The tv will not work until it has completely dried. I suggest that you leave it switched off overnight and then try again.

Hp office jet 5610 wont print colors correctly

Some printer software that detect ink levels won't recognize a cartridge that's been refilled. They treat the cartridge as empty although you've filled them with ink. You can try removing the HP software that pertains to the printing functions only (not the scanner abilities). You can also do a Power reset. Remove the printer cartridges, turn off the power, remove both the Power cord and USB cord (if applicable) for 10 minutes. After reconnecting the USB and power cords, install the cartridges as you normally would. The printer should treat them as new.

Looks like dead. when powering on, control panel shows "self test" and then nothing shows up on the panel and printer is dead.

Hi,

Try to reset the memory on your HP Officejet. Do the following:

  • Turn off the power to the HP Officejet and unplug the power cord.
  • Hold down the "# + 9" button.
  • Reconnect the power cord and continue holding the button for another five seconds.
  • Turn the HP Officejet on, and the memory should be reset.
If this won't work, you can try to upgrade the firmware but you can only do this if the printer is still detected by the Computer. You can check control panel and see if the printer is listed as "online" or "ready".

If the above steps won't work. Your printer is deem defective and needs to be replaced. You can try calling HP support for more info. Here's their US number: 1-800-474-6836

Hope this helps.

I have Hp Photosmart 309g - it is 2 yrs old. I get alignment failure & have tried all the resolutions on the support website. First Blue didn't print then after pulling the power out everything...

Yes that is unfortunately true, if it is out of warranty they won't be able to replace the printer. However, it can be traded for upgrade for an HP factory reconditioned printer for a lesser cost.

My HP Photosmart Premium C310 will not turn on. The computer said it was "offline". I've read the other forums and tried their solutions but none have worked. There is power to the printer....

Hi..

I will suggest you try reset the printer, follow the instruction below to reset your printer, if the problem still persist, replace the cable that connects the printer to the power outlet. If that did not still fix the problem,
1. Without turning the unit off, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Press and hold # and 6 keys.
3. While holding those keys plug the power cord back in.
4. Wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
5. Follow on printer screen instructions.
