Washer will fill and empty, but will not agitate or spin, it goes through cycles, but when it comes time to agitate or spin it does nothing but make a loud humming noise.

Perfect answer from Flyingtarzan. I just fixed this problem myself and sure enough I had a broken drive coupling. About 30mins to repair.
It is a broken motor coupler ($2 from China ebay, I paid C$28 locally). Fairly simple fix, watch the procedure on youtube. Only problem I had after installation was that I had used the reverse end of a screw driver to tap the coupler onto the motor shaft and pump which left the coupler expanded too much resulting in a squeaking and burning rubber smell while spinning. Took it apart again and used a spark plug socket to tap them on fully. Perfect washer now.

It was the plastic coupler, cost about $153 total.
My model is wtw6700tw1 ...I keep trying to reset it but nothing..should I try the coupler?
