NEW PURCHASE AND PLUGGED INTO AUTO TURNED ON AND GARMIN LOGO APPEARED AND THEN SCREEN WENT BLACK. DOES NOT WANT TO STAY ON. INTSTRUCTIONS SAY UNIT WILL PROMPT BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE THAT NEEDS DONE. DOES UNIT NEED TO BE CHARGED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME?

Cheaper to replace the TV than repair this problem.

What I would do is to on post pressing your PC's power on begin to click over and over till you see a screen the F8 key. Go into Safe Mode or you may be able to Start Windows Normally. If this does not work then you must either do a Recovery or Run Windows disk.

How did you charge it? If you did not use a high power USB charger, try that overnight. A USB charger provides a lot more powr than your PC. Leave it plugged in and off overnight.

If that does not work, Amazon sells battery replacement kits.

I had the same problem. When you have your nuvi plugged into your cigarette lighter it doesn't charge. Your battery is probaly near dead. I called Garmin and they told me to plug it into my computer via the usb cable. Turn the Garmin off and let it charge for several hours. That did the trick

You might try a couple of things:
1. Do a hard reset on the unit by holding the power button in the ON position until it restarts. It could be that your unit was left in a funky state when last you used it.
2. Plug it in to your computer (it will connect as if it were a storage device), go through all the registration stuff with Garmin.com, and download any software updates that are outstanding. That should clear things up.

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers

IS the battery charged fully? Try turning it on while its plugged in.

Question: Why won't my unit charge while plugged into my vehicle?
From the Garmin site: --> Answer: If your unit will not charge in your vehicle, you may need to replace the fuse located in the tip of the vehicle power adapter.

1. Unscrew and remove the silver or black, round end piece.
2. Remove the fuse (glass and sliver cylinder) and replace with a new fuse.
3. Ensure that the silver tip is placed in the end piece. Screw on the end piece.

could the battery be dead? Leave it to charge on the wall charger for several hours. Then try again. There is a way to do a hard reset....
