Frigidaire 14 cu ft upright freezer not working. Don't know if door was left open. or if it just **** the bed. I noticed it was thermally protected. Is there a reset for this. Power to plug. Nothing. No humming, buzzing, clicking, light. Nothing. Freezer only ~8 years old or so. Removed relay unit from compressor and had Frig dealer check. OK. He said to give the temp controller a rap. No good. disconnected the three leads from temp controller and checked for continuity . All combinations I tried indicated controller was working. Has a red, blue, and black lead. Not sure which leads to connect to "hot wire", to bypass temp controller.
We unplugged our freezer to defrost it and when I plugged it back in it just doesn't work. It feels pretty cold on the outside, somewhat cool on the inside but isn't freezing. It is not making any noise at all. It's not the temperature control or power cord. I didn't know it had a reset button however. Where is this button if it exists?
My freezer is also an upright frigidaire about 8 yrs old .

I understand you are having trouble with the door sealing on your upright freezer. Many times this can be caused by the freezer not being leveled. If the freezer is not leveled during installation, the door may be misaligned and not close or seal properly, causing cooling, frost, or moisture problems. To level your upright freezer use a carpenter's level to level the freezer from front-to-back. Adjust the plastic leveling feet in front, 1/2 bubble higher, so that the door closes easily when left halfway open. I hope this information has been helpful.
Sounds like frost bulidup from door being left open warm air gets in making frost and ice. Need to turn off for 24hrs or so to let all the ice melt compleatey then turn back on keep door closed run for 24hrs check Temp. shoud be about 0 to -5 Deg. if good start using.
Check the freezer fan by opening the freezer door and pressing the door switch and listing for the freezer fan sound. If no sound then the fan motor could be bad.
Look at the back wall too see if you have frost build up. If you do then you have a defrost problem.
If thees are not your problem you could have a seal system problem. (( freon leak ))
it won't freerze
