No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

Unfortunately, TV sets are not equipped with adequate internal protection against electrical storm damage, and it doesn't matter that the TV was turned off if it was left plugged in to an active electrical receptacle and/or directly connected to an antenna or an Internet data line. The fact that you can still receive anything at all indicates that the TV set can probably be repaired at a service shop, but for future protection of the set you should purchase a good surge protection device such as the one found at the below link.

7 times mean no horizontal deflection. So check horizontal output an solder of it and associate parts.Often resistor and transfo driver of base of h. output.

no ....the tube will end up after 20 yrs in 10 yr old sony...
it is worth if u fix it. randomly going black means...horizontal driver trans former is the problem..or any loose contact with the 110 volt supply to that transformer,,or any loose contact with line o/p transformer.. (horizontal driver transformer may be gone
then tv behaves like this) if any other parts gone tv wont come back.... there may be a loose contact call a service pro..

go in touch with SONY i assume ur set is still under warrenty.....call customer help and support

the picture tube of your tv have a problem on it. try to call for a technician to check for it.

i think your color combination chip is not working. you may have to change the chip of color system.

same problem... tv turns on and off repeadly while the green light flashes. seems as if the tv keeps restarting. please help.

Is good that you hit it and it reacts,very likely you have loose conections in different places but for the distorted picture you need to check the horizontal driver transformer and flyback after that is corrected you need to check the complete chassis for loose conections.Take your time.Good luck.
