Hi on trying to upgrade my tomtom300 from basic sd card downloaded upgraded system to a 512sd card but when replacing card unit shows card rejected with red cross ,any helpers please
There is a good chance the programs etc did not copy to the card. If you have a card reader, check to see if there are programs on the card. Make sure you do not have the sd card write protected, open the small hole on the side of the card, copy the programs again to the card.

If you're refering to upgrading your Navigation software, QuickGPSfix data and/or your current (out-dated) map, you can do it by connecting to the TomTom website (www.TomTom.com) using the TomTom HOME or MyDrive Connect software, depending on the model/version of your GPS device.
If you're refering to upgrading your GPS hardware/equipment, to have more capability/features, the device is not hardware upgradable, except for adding/using an SD card with a higher storage/memory capacity (to store more info/maps, etc.) ... provided you have a GPS device with an SD card slot.
You'll want to consider buying a newer model with more capabilities / features than what you have now.

You may have not written the entire program to the SD card. If you saved the program prior to the upgrade, start tomtom home program and reinstall the program. then upgrade again. The tomtom home program is not as user friendly as you would hope. Also turn the unit off, take out the card and then reinsert and turn the unit on again.
