I have a Westinghouse SK-32H240S that has no backlight at all. There isn't even a flash of light when powered on. Using a flashlight though, I can see the image displayed on the screen. I opened the back, found a bad transformer, ordered one and replaced it, but I still have the same problem. There appears to be no current going to the transformers for the backlights. Is there something on this board or the T-con board that could have been blown by the bad transformer on the LIPS board. Please help.
The voltage source to back light inverteres are from the main power supply regulator board. Check it.
The power supply and inverter board on these units are combined. I need to know what to look for on the LIPS board for voltage to go to the transformers and then the lights. I read somewhere that there is supposed to be 24 volts DC. Is this what the transformers are supposed to have for input? Any help would be appreciated.

one of your transformers probably blew. had same problem with mine so took it apart and saw the problem. did some research. Darfon makes the power board and you have to buy the whole board not just the transformer. could cost you around 200 dollars. best bet is to call a local tv repair company and see if the have spare transformers for that lcd.

It seems that your unit has some sort of Video side, PSU fault, or a problem to the Video section that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.

Audio works fine also.
I have checked all the transformers and they are fine. They are not receiving voltage but the bl on connection shows 5V. Where is there source for voltage?
I understand the voltage from the backlights comes from the power supply. I need more specifics on what to look for. Should I have 24 volts coming from an IC or a transistor?
