I understand that you are not able to us the microphone with Skype. As per the information provided in User Guide for the model it seems that the model has an Internal microphones .

Try configuring the internet microphone to use with Skype.
Open Skype - Tools - options- Audio settings- Set the input device as internal microphone and check the operation.

You may need to replace the fan or processor. Had the same problems myself, it's caused by Skype's use of the graphics card which increases processing output. Had to replace my processor for around $75 and it's worked since.

I think you are right.

Try changing your audio-settings, until your mic works again.

Please check if the webcam is detected in the device manager..
If yes then use a skype old version..

You need either a dynamic microphone (low impedance) or you could go with one of the USB types... but check operating system compatibility for the USB ones.

Try to reinstall the webcam drivers from www.hp.com (drivers). This possibly should fix the problem. Also, try updating the bios (from the same link).

can you access the webcam using the utility (hp webcam not SKype)? Sometimes Skype loses sync with devices. double-check your Skype version too.

how can i activate/use my hp wb cam on this sytem?

Go check in the control panel to see if the microphone is configured correctly.  Then check in skype to see if that is configured and try again.
