Dsl modem loses connection

The modem loses its connection after a couple of hours. I try to access the modem's configuration page (192.168.1.254), however, I cannot. Even if I reboot the modem, and reset all the cables, I still cannot access the modem configuration page. My last resort is to reset the modem to its factory defaults and start all over again. I do this at least once every day.

The problem turned out to be my DSL circuit. An AT&T Technician came to my house and determined that the signal strength was very weak. Then a maintenance person came to my home and switched me from one circuit to another. He had to do this at a small junction box in my neighborhood. Luckily, we had another phone line(that was not being used) where he could switch me to. After this, the problems went away completely.

SOURCE: Re-starting a ARRIS modem after a loss of power

You can try doing a "Hard reset" on the modem but it looks like you've tried most combinations. To do the hard reset: - unplug the coax cable from the back of the modem - Push and hold the "reset" button in for 15 seconds - Allow the modem 30 seconds to reinitialize and then plug the coax cable back in. Within 10minutes you should have activity back. If not, the modem needs to be replaced. I know you may have tried something similar to this but I'm hoping this may help.

SOURCE: Motorola SBG900 settings set back to default settings

This exact problem just happened to me today. I called Motorola & they said this sometimes happens as a result of a power surge (can be on the cable or power lines). All settings were lost & I had to redo the entire set-up from scratch.

SOURCE: i have a motorola high speed dsl modem (MSTATEA)

Contact your ISP- the issue is not likely the modem in this case. I suspect you may have an intermittent signal (sync) issue- you're losing signal, so a connection that is *very* state oriented *cough*Halo*cough* would cause you to see the issue a little more clearer than a connection that is a little more passive- for instance surfing on the web.

Tenda router input eror

It's not the username and password from your ISP. If you try to access your router and you have not changed anything, use the following values:
username = admin
password = admin

Once in the router interface, you will have to configure the router for your DSL-modem (I guess it's DSL since Windstream does not produce cable modems.)
Here fill in the username and password your ISP provided you with.

Let me know if you have any questions.

No WAN

Who is your Internet service provider?
Is it cable or DSl?
What is the model number of your router?
You can access Internet through the modem that means the modem is working fine. it is just the Internet connection settings which might not be working properly.
You can open the setup page of the router and change the settings manually.
Try this router installation help website and see if that helps you

How do i connect my tp link router to my dsl modem

Hi,
* 1 Unplug your DSL modem and D-Link router. In order for the network to properly recognize its devices, these devices must be attached in a specific order.

* 2 Plug in your DSL modem's power cord. There is usually no power button on a modem. Simply plugging in its electrical cable will turn it on. Give your DSL modem a couple minutes to re-establish its connection to AT&T's network before taking any further action.

* 3 Plug in your D-Link router's power cord. Like the DSL modem, this router will probably not have a power switch; simply plug in the power cable, and it turns on. Let the D-Link router sit for a couple minutes while it establishes its connection to the DSL modem and AT&T's network.

* 4 Physically attach your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable. Even if the router and modem are wireless, a physical connection must be established to properly configure the router. If this is not a wireless network, then your setup procedure is essentially complete.

To access a D-Link router on your network, open an Internet browser and navigate to the 192.168.0.1 address. This will bring you to your D-Link router's interface. The default User Name is "admin" (without the quotes), and there is no password. Enter the User Name and click the "Log In" button. This will bring you to the Setup window. Refer to your D-Link router's documentation for changing the default password (highly recommended) and forwarding ports.

If this is a wireless network, you have a couple further steps. First, change your network's SSID (Service Set Identifier) title, so that you can recognize it when other wireless networks are nearby. Also, choose your wireless encryption and passphrase. WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2) is a solid option. Specific instructions depend on your model of D-Link router; so refer to your documentation (which can usually be found at the manufacturer's website if you do not have it on hand).

* 5 Disconnect the Ethernet cable from your computer. Your new wireless network should be visible with your computer's wireless adapter. Windows and OS X will notify you of networks in range when your adapter is active. Connect to the one with your SSID, and enter the passphrase.

D-Link DSL-504T driver disc missing, looking for Win 7 compatable driver for modem.

No driver needed since you aren't connecting the pc the the modem, but to the router.
Connect the pc to the D-Link DSL-504T with a LAN cable, access it from a browser by going to this IP - 192.168.0.1 - , in there access the modem settings and configure it accordingly.

I can't get my Siemens SpeedStream 4100 to work with my new AT&T DSL service. I used to have DSL through a local company, Humboldt Internet, but they stopped offering DSL and sold off their DSL...

When you are connecting to it, are you using the lan connection straight into the device? When you do that is it showing as at least connected to the device on the computer? You did not post the operating system but can you check the router address by using the command prompt and using tracert commands to see what it is listed as? If you are using windows 10 have you use the powershell command to reset the winsock? Did you use the 30 30 30 reset method on the device?

I am trying to configure my netgear router to work with my dsl motorola modem

You can access your wireless router by first running you ethernet cable from pc to wireless, then in address bar, type 192.168.1.1 and this will enter the wireless router's software. If it asks for username and password, try typing admin for both.

No activity on my new speedstream 4200

Ethernet and DSL lights are indicating you have ADSL available on your line, and that you have computers connected to the router.

What has probably happened is that Optus did not set up the new router with your username and password. Go to thw following website for details on how to setup the modem.

http://help.optuszoo.com.au/help/dsl/connected/windows/optus_modems/speedstream_4200

Manual Modem Settings The Optus DSL Broadband self-installation CD configures all the necessary settings for your DSL Broadband service. You do not need to manually configure your modem if you have run the self-installation CD. While the following information is provided for your reference, using the self-installation CD is the recommended method for configuring your modem.
The Siemens SpeedStream 4200 ADSL modem can use either USB or Ethernet to connect to your computer.
  • If you are connecting via USB you will need to run the self-installation CD to install the USB driver before you connect your modem. The Siemens SpeedStream 4200 ADSL modem supplied by Optus has been customised for the Optus DSL Broadband service. Only the USB driver supplied on the self-installation CD will work with the Optus service. If you do not have the self-installation CD, you can download the latest drivers from the Siemens website.
  • If you are connecting via Ethernet it is possible to manually configure your modem without the self-installation CD. Only a web browser is required.
After connecting your modem there are two key steps to manually configure your modem for the Optus DSL Broadband service:
  • PC settings - Configure your computer's Ethernet network interface.
  • Configure Your Modem - Set the password in your modem's configuration pages.

PC Settings Step by step instructions are provided for each of the supported Windows operating systems:

Note: If you are updating the password in your modem, please complete steps 1 to 3 only.
Step 1 of 5
  • Enter http://10.1.1.1 (Default IP address of the Optus Supplied Siemens SpeedStream 4200) to access the modem Configuration software. You may wish to add this page to your Favorites for easy access later.

DSL line disconnects on WRT54GS only

Try to change the LAN IP address of your router to 192.168.2.1 by accessing the router's Setup page. You also need to set your Westell modem to "full-bridge mode". You need to ask assistance from your ISP to bridge the modem. After that, set-up the Linksys router to PPPoE then power cycle it.
