My Hotpoint Aquarius WF430 1300 doesn't complete its cycle, it stops after the wash & doesn't go on to the rinse & final spin. It seems to "freeze" after the wash is finished as the lights remain...

Fab! That's exactly what was wrong!
I managed to get a repair-man faster than greased lightning (very lucky!!!) who pulled out a colour-catcher (!!!!) a rubber band, spongebob square pants sticker and wait for it : ripped off sleeve which clearly had got caught in the drum and made its way to the pipes (I blamed kids when my favourite shirt was minus a sleeve some months ago, never in a million years did it even cross my mind it could have been chewed up by a washing machine!!!)
Anyway, the pump had to be replaced but less than an hour's work and at £97 all is well and good to go. Result!
