It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect. If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash. Check this link to replace the inlet valve: Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin. Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump. SOURCE: Maytag neptune tl displays LL and stops during the rinse cycle
Sorry chukenne,
Having not experienced this issue on my FAV6800AWW I missed this error code in the manual is that your machine type? Error code “LL” is documented in the troubleshooting part of the SM as Large Load detected. Does this happen with all wash load sizes? I would go into Service Mode and step thru and document Diag codes form page 17 of the SM and see if you find any recorded error conditions. I would be curious to see if error code block 16 indicates a fail condition. I'm thinking of a possible high motor torque condition detected that may have triggered the LL code just a WAG at this time. You may want to clear all error codes and start collecting from your next wash cycle but I would make a list of all codes before you clear them for reference of fail events of past wash cycles. I’m going to assume the LL code happened during a spin cycle. What caused you to drop the clutch out and re-lube/ Were you taking dc/UC errors in spin cycle? Rich
SOURCE: I have a Neptune TL FAV9800AWW that will not
Are you taking dc or UC errors to the display in spin cycle?
""Says it's a circuit or something but all that is fine."" Who made this assement?
""Still will not empty with or without clothes."" So I understand do you mean that you take no error codes to the display for this issue.?
The FAV9800AW has a different type of display then the FAV6800AW the machine I own. With limited.... no info on error codes I feel you are failing in spin cycle with either a "dc" error or a "UC" error. If so post back and we will go from there. Take a look at this owners issue and see if it similar to your issue.
Take a look through the Service Manual and see if this helps you identify error code types.
If you have water in the tube I can help you get into Service Mode and pump out the water. That will also let us know if the drain pump has failed.

SOURCE: How do I get my Maytag Neptune TL washer to stop
Try disconnecting the 120VAC power cord for a few minutes then re-power back up if you haven?t already tried that. If you still have the same issue then you may have a failed Control Board. If it?s the FAV6800AW is there an error code in the LED display? If the machine will not d let you into Service Mode then my next step would be to replace the Control Board a 10 minute job. If you decide to call in a service repair company I would call Maytag for an authorized Maytag repair service in your area. Some parts like the Control Board may still be under warranty (5yr). Warranty info is in the SM link I attached. The number to call is 800-688-9900. Maytag will need your model number and serial number, that info is located on the back right top side of the console. The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference. Post back if you have questions or want to dig deeper into the issue

Cindy,
I feel you have a Tub Seal Leak and from what you describe the Outer Tub bearings need to be replaced.
It’s a job but most DIY’ers can do this despite what you may see posted about calling in a expert and shell out $450+.
What are the 1st two digits of your serial number? They will be 10,11,12 thru 17.
How long can you be with the washer down?
I estimate a Tub Seal kit with Tranny O-ring and bearings to be about and the tool to be about $70…..but you get to extend the service life of your investment.
I will post a link with some info. I would not buy anything until your husband removes the Inner Wash basket form the Spinner Support. I had a difficult time removing the Spinner bolts from the Spinner assembly. You will need a impact tool to remove them air or electric.
I’m an owner not a repair person with basic mechanical skill sets nothing fancy. But you have done a Clutch maintenance or replacement and I feel you can accomplish.
Take a look at the post and see what you think. One of the links discuss a Series 15 with integrated One-Way Roller clutches in the upper Outer Tub bearing assembly. You will read how this owner got around this fantastic Maytag improvement…..they should have stayed with the Upper One-Way Roller clutch bearing ring for all series.

Neptune TL Spinning Issue Will Not Proceed read thru initial troubleshooting to end of post.
You will need this tool to remove the Spinner Nut. See Page 48/49 of the Service Manual for removing the Spinner Nut. It can be done with a impact tool and a 1.75” socket.
My cost for Spinner nut locking ring and spanner I did not purchase the kit. All you need are the two items listed below ;
