Reset the unit at the household circuit breaker and retry. PAU means the unit is paused either by a blockage and the sensor won't let the unit continue, or it was manually paused by a button press.

SOURCE: Won't drain. Blinking pause. Won't

Hi.

You need to check the drain filter, which is directly connected to the pump. That is the place where you usually find blockage. The filter or coin trap is located inside the drum. See the schematic below:

ginko_314.gif

If that is not enough, then the drain pump access is located in the front side of the machine, hidden behind the trim at the base. The kick panel is held to the washer's frame by screws:

ginko_313.gif

After removing the panel you will Be able to access the pump. Have a container ready to collect water that will come out through the hose.

DISCONNECT POWER before starting the job.

Here parts diagrams:

Here a page about drain/spin problem.

If you need parts see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

Regards.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Affinity keeps pausing mid cycle.

there is an access panel on the back of the unit. 6 screws and on the bottom is a rubber hose that comes from the tub. inside that rubber hose is a filter cup. i have the same unit and mine did the same thing. took it out pulled clog out put it back together. works like a charm. hard to get at but you can do it. use a drill with a phillips head to make it quicker. Also have pliers and a pair of channel locks. Good luck and it aint the Timer TRUST ME

My front load affinity will not start, says pause

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire washer, FAFW3517KW, is constantly showing you pause, when you press start it flashes the pause again, and that the door lock light does not come on. You could be seeing a couple of different possible reasons this is happening such as your control panel, door lock assembly, or door switch. Since it could be any of the underlying issues I would recommend having a professional come out to the home and repair the washer. -Matt

My frigidaire dyer comes on then the pause message appears. These are new appliances.

Hello barbarada180 - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

Frigidaire washer won't finish cycle

Hello Ellen Greer - This particular issue can be caused by quite a few reasons. Washer could be experiencing a communication error from the main control board, faulty door lock assembly, faulty pump or the timer itself is not operating correctly. Did you notice a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned or could possibly have another issue with the door lock assembly or pressure switch. You can also press and hold the start/pause and cancel button together at the same time for approximately 30 seconds to display an error code on the LED. What error code does it display? However, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the washer.

WAKE THE WASHER BY PRESSING ANY BUTTON.

WAIT 5 SECONDS.

PRESS AND HOLD THE START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY.

ALL LED'S WILL GO BLANK AND AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE CONTROL WILL SIGNAL THE STORED CODE USING AUDIBLE BEEPS AND BLINKING LED'S. THE CONTROL WILL REPEATEDLY SIGNAL THE CODE, AS LONG AS THE START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS ARE PRESSED. My Frigidaire GLFT294OES3 turns on, but after a few seconds, it goes to "No Spin" and errors out. The water won't come through and it just shuts off, please help!!!

To recall an error code,

Wake the machine by pressing any button

Wait 5 seconds

Press and hold the Start and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously

Ail LEDs will go blank and after a few seconds the control will signal the stored code using audible beeps and blinking LEDs. The control will repeatedly signal the code, as long as the Start and Pause Cancel buttons are pressed.

A two-second pause between repeats affords you the ability to make accurate counts to identify the correct error codes.

You may also have a code such as E47 or E24 etc..

Comme back with the code and I will explain what is the meaning of the code

My washer won't start, it keeps flashing ERR and then the wash-time, and then LOC. My roommate says to fix it before, he held down three buttons, but can't remember which ones. Any idea?

Try the following two buttons: press Options and Select together for 10 seconds (or until the LOC disappears). The pair of buttons held for 10 seconds also sets this control lock.

To find out the error code, turn the Program knob to the start position, Spin Only. Press Start/Pause to start the cycle. Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs. Press Cancel again and within 5 seconds press and hold the Options and Start/Pause buttons until the LEDs start chasing. Then release the buttons. Turn the Program knob seven clicks clockwise from the Start position. The control will signal the last error code. To clear the error, press and hold Options and Start/Pause for 3 seconds. Then either unplug the washer for 5-8 seconds before plugging it back in. Alternatively, press and hold Options and Start/Pause together for a few seconds until the Wash LEDs appear.

http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/frigidaire-electrolux/12950-frigidaire-atf6000es1-wont-drain.html has a link to the service manual for the listed washer (the link is half-way down the page).

I hope this helps.
