this is true, check the main board to the power supply board voltage should be 12volts and 5 volts and 24 they should be marked by the plug ,if voltages are there then the main board is your problem,./

It very much depends on: the model of DVD player you have and whether it is a standard or blu-ray player the settings on the player the type of connection (component and HDMI will yield a better picture)
