Convert my Sony kp61hs10 HD Ready to receive HDTV

Hi,

How do I convert my Sony KP61HS10 "HDTV ready TV" to be able to receive HDTV signal? I bought it eight years ago, and it's still a great TV. I'd love to be able to receive digital signals.

Many thanks,

Ray

No need to convert ,,i have same tv,,hdready just means it has no built in converter. You just need a HD converter box or a cable box or dvr that is also an HD receiver.

Hdtv or converter box

If the TV is already hdtv...no. Try reprogramming tv to find hd stations or if receiving signal from outdoor aerial make sure aerial is digital and facing right direction.

With Sony KP-46WT520 46 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television, does it receive digital signal over air? Do I need the separate digital converter box? What do I hook up where to get channels? and how do...

Hi Gwen,
This TV set doesn't have a digital tuner and you will need a digital converter box to receive over the air channels.
You still an antenna to receive the signal and then to connect it to your digital converter box. The programming should be easy.
The converter box should come with the user's guide on how to hook it up and program it.

Sony Wega TV --24F... does it need a converter?

No. all flat screens have converter chip built in.
If you are having problems getting channels, make sure you go to the settings, and broadcast settings, and make sure it is on AIR for regular tv, or CATV for cable.

No HDTV reception with Jensen JE3269 LCD tv

Looking at the manual, the specifications indicate that this is an NTSC TV. You would need an ATSC tuner (a digital converter box) to convert the digital signals into the analog ones that this TV can receive. You may also need an antenna designed for DTV signals to get a good reception.

36A50 Digital ready?

Hi duce1500,

Unfortunately, the 36A50 is not HDTV-ready. That means you will need a converter box. Here is a link to the model's specs, which includes this information:

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-36A50-36-TV/dp/tech-data/B00004YMBV/ref=de_a_smtd

I should mention, however, that if it's connected to cable (or certain satellite services), you won't need a converter to watch the TV - you'll receive the digital signal (although you won't have the 1080-pixel HD resolution - the 36A50 only has 850 lines of resolution).

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Maxent lcd

Your TV is an "HD-Ready" television. What this means is that your TV is ready to accept HD input from an outside source, but doesn't have the ability to produce the content itself. It is a monitor and does not have a digital tuner. Without a digital tuner (or for cable a QAM tuner) you will not receive OTA broadcast HD.

You need to purchase a High Definition capable set-top converter box. The converter box will have HD component out and may have HDMI out, either will feed your HD Ready TV.
