How do you do a channel scan on a westinghouse sk-32H240S?

It seems that the on the menu, it skips over the icon that is for editing channels. I moved and wanted to hook up a digital antenna to the tv and can't seem to be able to get the channel scan to kick off.

SOURCE: I have a Westinghouse 26 inch TV.

I carried my Westinghouse TV to the basement. Unplugged the antenna from the digital converter box and connected it to my digital TV. I then re-scanned for channels and found channel 9. After carrying the Westinghouse TV back upstairs, I connected the original set-up and tuned to channel 9 which was now showing on the screen as no signal. From that point I moved my VHF dipoles until I had located the correct position for reception. A little labor intensive, but I was fortunate to have another antenna that was receiving channel 9.

I cannot change the channel on Westinghouse TV. Model SK-19H2105 - Tried to do the fix mentioned for channel scan - cannot find the channel scan.

Press the “Menu” button on your remote or the side panel to access the On Screen Display

(OSD)

—Use the right/left arrow buttons to scroll across to the “Setup” menu

—Use the up/down arrow keys to select “TV” and “Quick Setup”

• Use the arrow keys to select your “Time Zone”, which allows you to receive

proper HDTV programming information

• Continue with arrow keys to select your signal source “Air/Cable/IRC/HRC”

—If you use a rooftop or indoor antenna, select “Air”

—If you use a cable service, select “Cable,” “IRC” or “HRC” (depending on the frequency

used by your cable service)

—Press the left arrow key to start scanning for channel

We have an antenna. Can't get Ch 3 on this tv to use our vcr/cd.

If you did a channel scan to build the channel list, the up/down channel will never bring you to 03, but you should be able to manually add the channel through the on screen menu system.
Alternately, simply punching in 03 (or 003) on the remote should force the TV to tune in channel 3.
Be sure the vcr is tuned to channel 3 as well, some are 3/4 switchable and default to channel 4 not 3.
A last resort if you can't get any of those to work is to get a cable splitter and run it in reverse with the 2 ended side going to the antenna and vcr and the single side going to the TV and doing another channel scan while the vcr is playing.

If none of these work, I'd need to know more about exactly how everything is hooked up.
ie - if the VCR is hooked into the component input on the TV, you need to switch the TV to A/V or composite or component rather than channel 3 etc. etc.

When I turn the tv on there is only 4 channels that show up. And I do have the cable pluged in

Run a full channel scan through the menu and the rest should show up as well.

Some TVs also have ability to manually turn off channels, which makes it easier to navigate when using UP and DOWN channel buttons. Instead of going to every single channel available you skip the ones that have been marked for skipping. It's a useful feature, but can get you in trouble.

Once a local hotel called us to repair 5 of their TVs and what turned out was that someone has played a joke on them and disabled all channels from the menu.

I AM SUPPOSE TO PLACE THE TV ON CHANNEL THREE TO PICKUP SATALITE FEED. SINCE THERE IS NO CHANNEL 3 IN AREA IT WONT SWAP FROM ARIAL TO SAT RECIEVER

You use channel 3 if you are going to use coax cable to feed your TV from the sat receiver.. Some sats will use Channel 60 or something in that range. You should use Audio/video cables for you Sat feed.

Sk-32h240s unable to get all local channels thru ant. only what whould be the formally vhf channels, not uhf.

UHF needs a UHF antenna most all channel antennas do not work good on UHF,
Try the set at a friends house that does get those channels. UHF is harder to get and that is why a UHF only antenna is needed by most people. Lots of antennas are junk do a search and you will find the 8 bay C/M is rated the best by a large margin.
A good antenna amp at the antenna is also needed it should be a low noise one. A search will show the ones that work best.
The Gov. as much as lied to us and the TV Stations the type of digital they forced on us is the wrong one and millions of people even with a great antenna have lost TV.
