If you have the Galaxy S III then your plan should have internet on it, therefore no.

No, thats not the reason, you do not have to have wifi but you should have a subscription from a phone company that provides data, otherwise it can become very expensive for you.
Access to the data you need to enjoy your new phone

SOURCE: galaxy samsung phone. He can't find wi-fi

He should read the manaul or call his cell phone provider's tech support.
If he still can't find wi-fi the wi-fi is turned off or hidden which can be corrected by the person who manages the wi-fi acces point.
I hope this helps him.

camera distance may be too far from wi fi source ie router or access point ? possible solution use a wi fi range extender.
Neighbours Wi Fi interfering with your WI FI . possible solution change the channel used by your wi fi from auto to channel 3 or channel 6 . This ensures channel spacing from neighbors if they are on auto as well . Setting in wi fi access point or wi fi router

Galaxy S6 wifi issue

First, try restarting the Galaxy S6. To do that, hold the power button on the right side of the phone until prompted. Hold it down again to turn the Galaxy S6 back on. It's a simple process but it has been known to dislodge Wi-Fi issues
If that doesn't work, Galaxy S6 users will want to try rebooting the local router if that hasn't been done in awhile. We recommend unplugging the router for a good 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. Users can do the same for the modem as well. Galaxy S6 users might also consider updating the routers firmware. This process will be different depending on make and model. If those simple fixes don't work, it's time to head into the Galaxy S6's settings.
If the Galaxy S6 isn't getting a solid connection, it's time to force the device to forget the Wi-Fi network in question. To do that, head to the desired connection in Settings. On the Galaxy S6, this can be found in the Connections portion of Settings. Once there, select Wi-Fi. Tap on the desired network and select the Forgetoption. Users will then need to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. Make sure the password is readily available or the device will be locked out.
If that doesn't work, head into Wi-Fi, tap More in the top right corner, and select Advanced. Ensure thatAlways allow scanning is turned on. You'll also want to make sure that Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set toAlways.

When i connect my samsung galaxy express to wi-fi my computer's wi-fi stops working

Hello Ricardo.
How are You? I Guess you need to
1- Check your wi-fi router model.
2- Check your wi-fi settings.
also please check how many devices are connected to your wi-fi at same time. because some routers can only support upto 5 device. you can check this in the settings and also routers manual.

Please let me know, once you done with it.

Transfer contacts from galaxy ace too galaxy s111

If you use Google to save your contacts, you can re-establish them via syncing. Picasa is another way to transfer your photos. If you're on a 3G or 4G network, use Google+ and "tick" the sync using wi-fi/data and save all your pic there. No need to transfer, as long as you have an Google account, you can move your pic anywhere on Android!

SD Card: Move the SD card to your new device, wait until the "media scanner" finish scanning and you should see your pics in the Gallery.

I cant get an internet connection on this phone, do i need to set it up manually?

Hi,

There are two ways you can connect to the internet over your phone. You can purchase a data plan from a company like AT&T which you can use anywhere. The other option would be to use your phone to connect to a wireless access point(WI-FI).

What are the differences? Wi-fi is usually free unless at a cofee shop etc but has a smaller area in which you can access(you have to be within a certain distance of the wireless router). A data plan cost money and is typically slower, however, you can use it at anytime as long as you have a signal on your phone.

You can click here to access the user guide for your phone.

If you have a data plan purchased and are using the SIM card they gave you then whenever you use a application on your phone that requires internet access it will connect.

If you go to page 83 of the manual it will go over the steps you need to take to enable Wi-Fi. In short, first active Wi-Fi
1) In Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings
? Wireless and network ? Wi-Fi settings ? Wi-Fi.
1) Then under Wi-Fi settings click Wi-Fi networks, select the Network you wish to connect to then click Connect.

Reference the user manual as it goes into more details about the features on your phone and how to use them.

Cannot get google account on my defy says cant find reliable connection to server. what can i do to make it work. and it says that: "this could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be...

If you haven't configured your phone to access the internet yet, and you want to do it through your network carrier's data plan, bear in mind their APN settings. Contact they, in case you don't know such data. Then, go to 'Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point names'. Once there, press 'Menu > New APN', and fill in a 'Name' for it, and, at least, your carrier's data under 'APN', 'Username' and 'Password'. Then, press 'Menu > Save'. Press the back button as many times as required for you to reach the home screen you were in, prior you started making these changes.

On the other hand, if you want to access the internet through wifi (e.g. your home's wireless network, or an internet cafe), go to 'Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks' and tick the 'Wi-Fi' checkbox, in order to turn your phone's wifi radio on. Then, tap 'Wi-Fi settings', and, if the network you want to connect your phone to doesn't appear on the available networks list (e.g. a hidden network), tap 'Add Wi-Fi' network' and fill in 'Network SSID', select the security method, and fill in the password, if needed. When you finish, tap 'Save'. You can also specify how your phone will use its wifi radio. Tap 'Menu > Advanced > 'Wi-Fi sleep policy'. Again, press the back button as many times as required to return to the home screen.
Hope it works for you.

Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.

Regards,
Carlos

Wifi saying unable to scan networks

Hello!
Here are the things you can try for a malfunctioing Wi-Fi on your Galaxy S:
Try turning off your Wi-Fi then turn it on again.
  • Sometimes, this works for me as the Wi-Fi might need a restart so it can try scanning again. You can do so by going to Settings > Wireless and Network > Wi-Fi Settings and ticking the Wi-Fi checkbox.
Turn off your handset then turn it on again.
  • An app that was running on your handset might be messing with your Wi-Fi, so to make all things better, you can restart your handset for a fresh boot. :)
Check if there are actually Wi-Fi networks in your area or the Wi-Fi is too weak.
  • If there aren't any Wi-Fi networks to detect, it can't do anything at all in the first place. Try moving to an area with better Wi-Fi signal.

You can ask me if you have any queries! :) ~azukibean70
