LG WM2010CW 3.5 cu. ft. Front Load Washer Logo

My LG WM2010CW washer does not fill up with water.

When I start my washer, the drum tumbles as usual to sense the load of clothing to wash. But once the washer completes this process, it does not fill up with water like it is supposed to. In fact there is no water at all that gets injected into the drum. The normal water injecting sounds are no longer present (no clicking and water noises). After a few moments the le error codes pops up on the display. I have tried to troubleshoot this code following documented instructions without success. I believe either the water pump or the control board is malfunctioning. How can I find out which one needs replacing? Also I believe there is more than one control board present in this washer so I will need to know which one to replace if need be. Thanks in advance for your help!

If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle, the most likely cause is the water valve. What happens is the water valve will stop letting cold water into the washer; therefore, once the washer gets to rinse it will either stop or not do anything during the whole rinse cycle.
This is because when you selected your water temperature, you may have selected warm/cold or hot/cold. The hot water came in and you didn't notice any problems. When it got to rinse, the cold water the cold water won't come in. Therefore, the washer does nothing.
The item to check would be your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board. You can also do a live volt test to see if it is getting the full 120 current, but be sure to unplug unit before testing as this is a live test.
Another test u can do to check the water inlet valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.
TIMER
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle the timer may be the problem. Sometimes the timer gets stuck in the middle of the cycle or won't turn at all. If the washer runs, but the timer doesn't turn, the timer is bad and needs replacing.
Do you have anti-flood hoses leading to the machine. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. When the hoses detect that water is still flowing after a certain amount of time due to the leak it shuts down and causes the machine to turn off during the rinse/spin cycle
By the way my advice is free cuz God is good!

SOURCE: LG TROMM WM 2077CW LE Error

An LE error is a locked rotor. The hall sensor on the stator part of the motor is not sensing the rotor part of the motor is turning. So the short version is you need a new stator(which has the sensor on it or just the sensor) replaced which should have a 5 year warranty on it so call LG for your nearest authorized service center

What is wrong when LG washer spins but clothes are still wet?

If the machine has drained the water out and clothes are still damp after spinning, there may be something caught in the hose from the bowl to the pump, or not reaching the correct spin speed.Does the machine sound different.Let me know how you went.

Is it normal for the washing machine to start and stop the spinning while the machine is in each cycle? Should it take over an hour to run one wash cycle?

Yes...they use less water...so they start, tumble, then cycle again adding more water. I use the fastest setting on all my clothes which is 1/2 hour. It also does start and stop during spinning to tumble the clothes. It speeds up as it goes thru each stop till it spins real fast. All my clothes wash perfectly on fastest cycle.

How do I clean my washing machine? My clothes and the washer have a mildew odor.

Add the entire packet of "TIDE WASHING MACHINE CLEANER" directly into the tub (no laundry) and close the door.

Press and hold: SPIN SPEED & SOIL LEVEL buttons--then press POWER button.
Wait for door to lock.

Press the START button (6) times--this will fill the tub with hot water to the maximum setting when it stops filling.

Press the START button two more times--this will enable the tub to tumble.
After 3 hours--turn "off" the washer.
Turn the washer back "on".
Select the shortest wash cycle (usually "quick wash") and press "START". This will rinse out the tub.
This method of "TUB CLEAN" is *not* from a service manual but has been the best method for cleaning out LG washers more than a year into incorrect detergent usage.

After this--use the correct amount of "HE" detergent & perform a "TUB CLEAN" cycle every (4) months using the *tub clean* option on the control panel.

Limited agitation during wash cycle Load Sense OK

Possible that the program selected is an easy wash as this is meant for daily wash , less soiled clothes.
If however the same situation is present in all the cycles then the capacitor to the motor must be checked as it can reduce the speed of the motor.
Also check the belt , check for friction on the drum spindle and the motor.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else ;-0(
Good luck,

My washer doesn't get enough water in it to wash properally. There isn't a water level knob on the washer. Its a frontloading whirlpool.

There is most likely nothing wrong with the washer. Front load washers will only fill about 2 inches of water in the tub. As the load starts to tumble, water is absorbed into the clothes, causing the water level to drop. The machine senses this and adds more water. The process continues until the water level stabilizes. (thus no need for a water level switch) Your clothes should get wet, but you will little if any water. If you use a gentle cycle you will get slightly more water, as the washers tumble at the same speed for all cycles, but give a more gentile wash if there is more water in the drum.
Also,..... remember because you have so little water in a front load washer (compared to most all top loader models) you want to use only 1 to 2 (max) tablespoons of HE detergent per load!

SAMSUNG FRONT LOAD WASHER

samsung machines have a common fault i have a j1253 and this problem has come up also another problem is that the drum over fills with water this fault is caused by a vacumn pipe which has either a blockage for less water or a hole in it when the drum overfills this vacum pipe is located in my washing machine at the front under the top itis a small pipe which is whitish in colour running from the back of the machine at the bottom along the right side of the machine and travel upwards to a round vacum valve this pipe either gets squashed by the movement of the drum and the concrete balance or in the case of over filling rubs and creates a whole check this pipe as this is usually the cause

LG washer uses so little water, clothes aren't even damp and not clean

You will need to have a qualified LG technician come out and see what the problem is.  You may have a water level switch issue.
