If there are ice cubes setting in the icemake waiting to be dumped then the icemaker is bad. If the icemake is dry then the water valve is bad. You have one water valve with two solenoids. One works water in the door and the other sends water to the icemaker.

Replace selenoid and water is still not going to ice maker

Did you pour about 2/3 cup of water into the icemaker and did it dump ? If you did pour water into the icemaker , and it did not dump the cubes , then the icemaker is bad . If it did dump , so you replaced the water valve , then the fill tube directly at the icemaker is frozen with ice . It will need to be removed ( fill tube at icemaker ) and the ice cleared out by hot water . On some models , behind the refrig , 2 screws hold the fill tube in place . Remove the tube , and clear the ice . When reinstalling , have someone guide it from inside the freezer , to where it mounts on the icemaker fill cup .

Water not going into icemaker. Water dispenser works fine.

Check the water valve at the back of the fridge if present.

Even if you used blowdryer, ensure that linse are not frozen by performing a complete defrost.

Disconnect water lines from icemaker, and blow with compressor if the above did not work.

Icemaker not producing ice

you need to troubleshoot the problem, if the wire arm that tells the ice maker to stop making ice when full is in the upright position the ice maker will not make ice. the problem has to be either the switch on this arm malfunction. but probably in MOST cases it is your electronic water valve which has gone out. this is located on the water supply line on the back of the fridge at the bottom probably behind some cardboard or plastic. it is the same kind of water valve as a dishwasher uses, if it malfunctions it will not deliver water to your tray, manually fill the tray and put the arm down, if the maker dispenses the ice out of the tray, chances are your electronic valve is broken.

ICE MAKER QUIT MAKING ICE ON MY WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE

I had a Whirlpool Model GD5SHAXNS in which the icemaker quit working about the same time (3 years old). I had water out the dispenser, I found that it was the icemaker itself failed not calling for water to fill it. I replaced it with a icemaker on-line for about $100 and problem fixed. I have been told his is a common problem with the icemaker in this model ref.

No Ice & no chilled water from frig.

First off does this model have a water filter if so...and if it is old and or full of filtered material the water will not dispense anywhere.

Ok...the way to test for power is obviously with meter you can easily check the solenoid leading to the inside of the frig by exposing where the connectors attach to the solenoid...but do not remove them completely you should have a continual 110/120 v supply...someone at the front of the unit can depress the dispenser and you will hear the solenoid activate...if it does not...the same should apply for the ice maker solenoid...unless it is activated by the timer (electrically) and not mechanically (which it usually is) if you are getting voltage to both of these....and you have voltage to the primary solenoid...(which you may not) if you do not have a filter...and both of the other valves stopped working at the same time..(which would be rare). Then there may be an electrical problem in general. Also you can check to see if the firdge is cold enough to make ice by manually filling the Ice maker with water...it should freeze in under 4 hours and dump the ice also...if it does...them it lies in an electrical problem in general or electrical problem to the primary solenoid. Also do you have hard water....as it may be posible for calcium deposits to accumulate at the valve inlets...and often there are tiny screens in place here also. Check for water continuity at the valves if possible.

I hope this helps....good luck and get back to me and we can go from what you find out.....please rate me.... the Fang

Ice make problem

I THINK WHAT YOUR SAYING IS YOU HAVE ICE AND WATER IN THE DOOR AND YOUR GETTING WATER IN THE DOOR AND NO ICE,IF THE ICE TUBE IS CLEAR YOUR PROBLEM LIES IN THE INLET WATER VALVE OR THE ICE MAKER ITSELF,YOU CAN JUMP THE WATER VALVE TO SEE IF IT SHOOTS WATER TO THE ICEMAKER,FIRST PULL FRIG. OUT,REMOVE BACK PANEL,TAKE TWO LEADS OFF THE VALVE NOW GO SEE IF YOU HAVE WATER STILL COMING OUT OF THE DOOR,IF YOU DO THESE ARE THE LEADS YOU NEED,FIND A OLD POWER CORD YOU NEED TWO CLAMP FITINGS OR GATOR CLIPS,SLIP THEM ON THE TWO TERMINALS ON THE WATER VALVE ,THEN PLUG THE CORD INTO A OUTLET AND COUNT TO 5 AND UNPLUG,NOW GO TO THE ICEMAKER AND PUT YOUR HAND IN THE WELL AND SEE IF YOU FEEL WATER IF NOT YOUR VALVE IS BAD,IF THERE IS WATER IN THE WELL YOUR ICEMAKER IS BAD,GET THE MODEL NUMBER FROM INSIDE THE FRIG. AND CALL LOCAL APPLIANCES PARTS STORE AND GET THE NEW PART,LET ME KNOW-MIKE
