SOURCE: Quickbooks error ~~ transfering files from 2003 to 2009

There may be more than one issue going on here. In some cases, going to a version that is several versions later requires a stepped upgrade. 2003 to 2004, 2004 to 2006, then to 2009. There may also be data damage existing in the 2003 file that will prevent an upgrade, until it is resolved in 2003.
Intuit used to have a policy that it would have you send in a copy of the data file and would convert it for free if you were going to the latest version.
If you are still unable to resolve this, let me know.

SOURCE: error message " quickbooks has encountered a problem "

1. Do you have a backup of your quickbooks from before this started happening? If yes, try opening the backed up quickbooks file.

2. Uninstall Quickbooks 2009 completely, then reinstall it and check of updates and install all of them, then try it again.

If the problem persists, please let me know so I can continue to help you. These are the first two things to try and would be the easiest solution.

Thanks for using the FixYa forums!

SOURCE: Quickbooks Pro 2007 has stopped working. when i

uninstall the software 100% reboot the machine so the information obtained in ram is not going to interfere with new installation. using your original cdrom that came with the kit, install your quick books 2007 software register it with the original code and product id sequence numbers. when it tries to run theirs 3 things happening now. the program in initializing it;s visual c run time libraries. and well as calling the dynamically loaded libraries from the windows directory and other locations. if a program was removed that used these files and it was uninstalled with the files then it is possible you will have to install qb from scratch and use the qbw or quick books workspace file to run your company files afterwords. backup the qbw files encase of problems. this is often tell take sings of viral or system melware. then scan with your virus software. and see if anything was crashing the program. other options involve system files missing that are used. good luck.

I want to get rid of "ASK" and set Google as my hopmepage

Here's how you can get rid of ASK toolbar and set Google as you homepage:
1.To uninstall Ask Toolbar program from Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, click the "Start" button, then click on the "Control Panel" menu option.
If you are using Windows 8, simply drag your mouse pointer to the right edge of the screen, select Search from the list and search for "control panel" .Or you can right-click on a bottom left hot corner (formerly known as the Start button) and select Control Panel from there.
2.When the "Control Panel" window opens click on the "Uninstall a program" option under "Programs" category. This option is shown by the arrow in the image below. If you are using the "Classic View" of the Control Panel, then you would double-click on the "Programs and Features" icon instead.
3.When the "Programs and Features" or the "Uninstall a Program" screen is displayed, scroll through the list of currently installed programs and uninstall Ask Toolbar, Ask Toolbar Updater, Ask Updater and any other recently installed or unknown programs from your computer. That should uninstall Ask toolbar from your computer. You'll also need to remove extensions from your browsers. Refer to this article which gives detailed instructions on how you can remove Ask toolbar from your browser as well as what to do if you can't remove it:
    http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-ask-toolbar-and-search/
For setting Google as home page, once Ask toolbar has been removed, just open your browser and paste this link in the address bar:
    http://www.google.com/homepage/

It'll automatically detect the browser you're using and give you instructions on how to set Google as your homepage.

Cant access my email inbox

You may be prevented from accessing your Gmail account in the Google Chrome browser for a number of reasons.

Although both programs are Google products, there may be a firewall, browser or software conflict causing the Gmail page not to load.

Going through a few basic troubleshooting steps can usually clear up the matter and get you back into your Gmail account.

Click the "Wrench" icon at the top-right corner of the browser window and select "Options" from the menu.

Go to the "Under the Hood" section.
Click the "Clear Browsing Data" button near the top of the options page.

A popup window appears.
Check the boxes for "Empty the Cache" and "Delete Cookies and Other Site and Plug-in Data."

Change the "Obliterate the Following Items From" to "The Beginning of Time" option, then click the "Clear Browsing Data" button.

Clearing out the browser's stored files often helps to make websites load properly and perform better.

Check your firewall settings.
Click the "Start" button and type "Firewall" into the search box.

Click "Windows Firewall." In the application, click the "Allow a Program or Feature Through Windows Firewall" from the left column.

Check the box for "Chrome.exe" from the program list.
When done, click the "OK" button.

You may have other firewall software installed, so check those settings if necessary to allow Google Chrome full access to the Internet.

Disable browser extensions. Periodically, an extension may cause a conflict in the browser and prevent you from loading Gmail properly or entirely.

Click the "Wrench" icon at the upper-right corner of the window, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Extensions."

Click the "Disable" link for any Gmail-specific extensions, such as "Better Gmail" or "Google Mail Checker."

If Gmail still doesn't load, temporarily disable all extensions one by one until it works.
Log into Gmail using a non-secure connection.

For example, if you normally use the secure connection or "https" prefix, then you want to type "http://mail.google.com/mail" for the website address.

If you already use the non-secure connection, try using the secure connection by typing "https://mail.google.com/mail" instead for the address.

Try a different browser other than Google Chrome to see if the problem lies with Gmail.

The Gmail servers may be experiencing difficulties for a wide number of users or just specifically your account.

Sometimes troubleshooting the browser or firewall software will not correct the issue.

If the problem still persists on a different browser or computer system, then wait a while before attempting to access Gmail again.

The loading issue may be resolved by then.

Cannot connect to internet , keeps coming up canot find server or dns error ?

1. First of all check the ip address on your computer.
Click Start--Programs--Accessories--Command prompt.
type ipconfig and then press Enter.
look for autoconfig ip v4 address and default gateway.

2. If ip address is correct then try to ping few websites, just type ping www.google.com or any other website address and press Enter and see what is packet sent, received and lost.

if lost is 100% that means the router is not connected with the server.
if lost is 0% that means there could be a problem with Dns server or winsock interface of the computer.

if later is the case then you can also try to restart DNS and DHCP.
Click Start, in the search box type services.msc and press Enter now just look for DNS Client, right click on it and click on start/ restart and then look for DHCP Client, again right click on it and click start/ restart.

or just reply once you've performed the second step and i'll tell you what to do next.

Can you correct my error message? command line option SYNTAX ERROR I get this message when I try to open a pps file. I have Microsoft Power Point installed on the computer. Thea.

In computer science a syntax error ( IPA: /ˈsɪntæks ɛrə(ɹ)/ ) refers to an error in the syntax of a sequence of characters or tokens that is intended to be written in a particular programming language.
For compiled languages syntax errors occur strictly at compile-time. A program will not compile until all syntax errors are corrected. For interpreted languages however syntax errors cannot be detected until runtime and it is not necessarily simple to differentiate a syntax error from a semantic error.
A syntax error may also occur when an invalid equation is entered into a calculator. This can be caused, for instance, by opening brackets without closing them, or less commonly, entering several decimal points in one number.

copy and paste this link in your internet address bar for more information:

Computer,software & printer problems

Hi, With all the missing programs, files, links and others, might it not be better to start anew? Since QB installer is coming, most if not all drivers are downloadable, perhaps your best bet is to delete the old, repartition, re-format and install a new/fresh/clean Windows. If there are files/data that you would want to keep/maintain, you can always burn then into a DVD prior to the new install and load them back in when the re-install has completed. Alternately, a 2Gb flashdisk can hold a lot of data. In some similar instances, I normally also copy the inf, System32 of the old setup just in case will have problem with drivers. Another is before deleting/reformatting, go to your Device Manager and make a list of all your devices. Thereafter, download the needed drivers appropriate for your OS and burn them into a CD (or flashdrive just like your important data. Foremost in your list is networking card and modem driver. It may also be to your advantage to log down your Networking details such as your IP address. This may sound more work but in the long run less frustration and possibility of your problem recurring. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turned up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
