When i key the mic, the power output is normal, but if i continue talking more than a couple of minutes without unkeying, i notice that the rf power meter starts falling....i can then unkey, wait a few seconds and key the mic again and i have normal power output again. this only happens in the ssb mode. its not a problem on the am band, only on usb or lsb. ive had the radio tweaked and it has had an extra channel kit installed many years ago, but ive just noticed this problem recently. does anyone have any idea as to what could be the problem.

thanks for replying bernard, swr is 1.2 so thats not the problem. i thought about installing a small fan on the side of the radio....maybe keeping it cool would help?
hi i was yhinking on your problem and maby there is an oscilation than makes the final amplifayer to work constantly even you are on ssb mode this can be detected when you press the ptt - no output have to be there
the fan can help
