The screen looks good for initial 1 min, but after that snow comes on the screen.
Look for any loose contacts in RC jacks/sockets/Cable. Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Sounds like it may be the backlight ballast on the inverter. Hopefully you are still under warranty, Call customer support even if you are out of warranty and explain problem.

In most cases is the screen is covered with vertical lines all the way accross the screen then the T-Con module is at fault. The t-con board is replaceable without having to replace the entire LCD panel which would usually make it cheaper than replacing the TV. The part number I come up with is 1-857-213-11. It can be replaced, but it is probably going to cost you more then the cost of a new TV to do it.
