The Konica Minolta Maxxum QTsi is a nice SLR camera that can accept a wide range of 35mm films. You can buy 35mm films from Kodak, Fujifilm and many other companies.
The older lenses will work with the Canon digital cameras, but they will be manual focus and you will need an adapter. The adapters are available at camera shops like B&H. I use some older lenses for macro.
here is a link to an ebay search for minolta to canon eos adapter, they sell for just about every camera. i know it sucks, buying a new camera that wont work with your favorite lens, but i think you might be better served focusing (couldnt help myself) on camera features and pricing. i own a canon dslr and love it. sigma has a cool dslr. it has a three layer image sensor, with a removable on sensor ir filter. the ir filter thing is really cool.
hi there
your camera auto detects the type of film by reading the black squares on the side of the film case.
the camera then adjusts the settings automatically.
Hello
The Minolta AF lens will fit and work on most of the Minolta AF bodies (it will depend on exactly what lens it is as to the compatibility), you will also find that it will fit and work with the new range of Sony
digital SLR camera bodies.
The Quantaray lenses are a little bit more difficult as Quantaray make lenses for several different types of camera body, it should mention on the lens what make the lens mount is for. If you post further information about the lenses it might help.
Usually mounts are unique to a camera manufacturer. There are exceptions. Sony has the Alpha; lenses for the Konica-Minolta are the same mount. Your AF (autofocus) lens will work on it. You might also consider picking up a Konica Minolta 5D or 7D.....they're no longer made and hence are cheaply had.
The MD and Rokkor lenses won't work on the Sony Alpha.
THIS IS A CHEAP LENS (<$50 VALUE) SO I WOULDN'T LET IT DRIVE YOUR DECISIONS!!
